[Bug 1708348] [NEW] error occured during install.

2017-08-02 Thread Jannu Sudhakar
Public bug reported:

error occured during install, while playing around I discovered that the
bios version(legacy) installs grub correctly (but ofc is of no use
because I cannot tell the computer to load ubuntu installed for bios on
a uefi system). Maybe the grub implementation for uefi has a problem
going to try older version.

[Bug 710733] Re: LKCD Not Executing kexec Properly

2011-07-28 Thread Sudhakar Jha
@ Daniel Richard G.

I performed following steps to resolve the crashdump hang issue.

[Issue 1]default crashkernel=...
Changed the crashkernel to use 128M instead of 64M in /etc/grub.d/10_linux.
dmesg displays 128M reservation as expected.

[Issue 2] makedumpfile throws error while loading shared libraries: libdw.so.1
cp /usr/bin/makedumpfile /root/makedumpfile_org
cp /bin/makedumpfile-static /usr/bin/makedumpfile

Even now the system is unable to generate core file. It's hung.
Please let me know if I missed any step.

[Bug 483252] [NEW] problem in hibernate after grub update

2009-11-15 Thread R Sudhakar
Public bug reported:

i have debian lenny and ubuntu 9.10 on my desktop on separate hard drives.
Every thing was fine. after a routine upgrade provided by ubuntu the grub was
updated and after that both debian and ubuntu do not hibernate when i choose
hibernate from the shut down menu. although grub appears ok and i can choose
which os to boot into.
My problem is instead of hibernating and allowing me to boot into the other
system ubuntu just goes to sleep and wakes up as soon as i move the mouse or
use the key board. i am forced to save all my data and close all my
applications, shut down and and then reboot into the other system. i generally
have 10 to 15 applications ruuning on my system and i am in the habit of
starting from where i left.
