[Bug 449108] Re: Computer stalled during splash screen
I'm suffering from a similar problem which happens every time I boot the machine. The drum sound is played, but the login window isn't shown for about 30s I've attached a bootchart to illustrate it. -- Computer stalled during splash screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449108 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 397617] Re: brightness no more working on karmic (KMS)
The new xserver-xorg-video-intel - 2:2.9.0-1ubuntu1 does make xbacklight _report_ the display brightness, but there is no way to actually change it using xbacklight/gnome-brightness-applet. This problem occurs a samsung x360 laptop. -- brightness no more working on karmic (KMS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397617 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 397617] Re: brightness no more working on karmic (KMS)
I have the brightness issues on Karmic with kms as well with a Samsung x360 laptop. /sys/class/backlight/... is populated and looks okay, but there is no visible change in brightness when altering the values. Booting the kernel with 'nomodeset' makes brightness work again. xbacklight says "No outputs have backlight property" -- brightness no more working on karmic (KMS) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/397617 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 118476] Re: [Gutsy] xorg Intel 810 video driver hangs due to displayinfo
In answer to your 2 questions: 1) The "intel"-driver doesn't need the DisplayInfo option setting to get it to work. I would certainly call that an improvement 2) My xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files are attached ** Attachment added: "Xorg log file" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7961155/Xorg.0.log -- [Gutsy] xorg Intel 810 video driver hangs due to displayinfo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/118476 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 118476] [Gutsy] xorg Intel 810 video driver hangs due to displayinfo
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810 After upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy. The X server stopped working. The machine gets as far as displaying an empty console terminal which you can't escape. Rebooting in recovery mode and looking at the /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows that the system may hang due to broken BIOS implementations if DisplayInfo in the device section is set to true. Adding a line in xorg.conf setting this to false solves the problem. [Bug 66988] X server doesn't respond to keyboard input at first login
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg After switching from sysvinit --> upstart my X server won't respond to keyboard commands (not even CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE) until I select the 'Remove login via XDMCP option' (using the mouse), press cancel and THEN (and only then) can I enter my username+password in the login window. BTW everything I type to my x-server appears at a root-prompt which is active at every boot when I press ALT+7. It begins with: "The system has reached a state where there are no jobs running. A shell will be spawned so that you start such jobs as necessary." I am unsure whether this bug is upstart or xorg related.
