[Bug 552681] Re: Mouse cursor trapped with right-click in menu, lose input control

2010-06-09 Thread Thomas Witzel
I don't think this is a grace issue only. This is an X server issue.
Unfortunaly there hasn't been a new release from Ubuntu yet.
I have put a few notes on my blog on how I fixed this. Gladly rebuilding the X
server from source is pretty straight forward these days in ubuntu
If you are interested in the fix, please see:

[Bug 581032] Re: mouse cursor gets trapped in a Motif drawing area when creating a popup menu

2010-06-09 Thread Thomas Witzel
Hi,
I came up with basically the same solution as Jerry a while ago and have been
anxiously waiting for a new xorg-server release from Ubuntu. What has to be
done to get this pushed ? Maybe its not considered serious, but many scientific
applications are still Motif based, so 10.04 workstations are almost useless
without the patch in our environment. While we can patch easily, its harder to
pass along a patch for our users along with the apps :-)

[Bug 348065] [NEW] Device-nodes for partitions on multipathed device are not generated

2009-03-24 Thread Thomas Witzel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: multipath-tools

I configured a Dell MD3000 using multipath. Everything looks good, but after a
reboot there is no
/dev/dm-* devices and the partitions do not show up in /dev/mapper. I have to
manually generate the /dev/dm-* devices with mknod and then manually call
kpartx before I can mount the partitions.
I asked for help on the dm-devel mailing list and it was narrowed down to a
possible udev problem.

Oops. Its Ubuntu 8.10. I have faithfully run apt-get update every day
for the last 3 weeks, but no fix has come in, hence what looks like a
duplicate bug to what others have reported here, as their fixes do not
seem to apply to me.
