Clean install 15.04 AMD Fusion Radeon Mobility 6520
Clean install 14.04.02 LTS same machine--same problem started after first
software update
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04
Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu8.1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu
Public bug reported:
13.04 the cryptkeeper icon does not appear in the Unity panel. I've
tried setting the whitelist to 'all' and adding 'cryptkeeper' to the
list, with no success. Cryptkeeper is definitely running according to ps
ax. Killing it and restarting it has no positive effect.

My solution has been to install Erlang OTP from the repository at
erlangsolutions.com, which is a full OTP. I haven't figured out a way to
convince packages like wings3d that it satisfies the erlang dependency, but
I suspect it's possible. I mostly use erlang for programming, so I haven't
put in
I've tried installing OSS--merely made it so the sound system did not
work. I have installed firefox, chrome, chromium, epiphany and opera
browsers, but none of them have audio with flash. Some have audio on
some html5 sites by some don't. I am using a Dell Inspiron mini Duo.
I've installed MeeGo
I have installed Google Chrome and Opera for Linux, Firefox for windows
under Wine (flashplayer won't install), the beta version of flashplayer
11. But none of it has made the sound work in my browsers.
In Chrome, HTML 5 sound didn't work, but in Firefox it did.
I uninstalled and killed
What is remarkable to me is that the sound in my browsers worked fine
when I first installed Oneiric on this brand-new laptop, and only
stopped working in the last couple days--some recent upgrade must have
made a change.

As a person who is using erlang with a wx interface (the easiest way to
get a gui with erlang), and I think the decision to make it impossible
to get the full OTP erlang from Ubuntu is a clearcut example of a
foolish consistency.

It's a little disappointing that the Ubuntu distribution of erlang-OTP
does not include a functional wx library, since that is now a standard
part of the OTP definition. Why have erlang if you're not going to have
the real thing?
