The point is that this project needs a lot of work, and although myself and some other people were finally able to get access to the repo from the original developer, this project is not actively maintained. Some patches have been merged in, but there is no active development at this point. If I had more time, I'd love to bring everything up the speed, but I'm just very busy. I'll fix this eventually. I think the easiest solution is to detect if GNOME is being used and it so, check for gnome-screenshot.
