[Bug 1550779] Re: [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun - Xorg glitches
I'm currently at kernel version 4.14.11 and the intel firmware drivers installed from https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/firmware which are: kbl_guc_ver9_14.bin bxt_guc_ver8_7.bin kbl_dmc_ver1_01.bin And the bug is still there. Although it wasn't manifesting itself until I've connected an external screen (may coincidence though). @Angelo Lisco Not sure will it help in your case but have you tried setting kernel boot flag? i915.enable_rc6=0 It's workaround not a fix, I'm afraid. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1550779 Title: [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun - Xorg glitches To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1550779/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1550779] Re: [i915]] *ERROR* CPU pipe A FIFO underrun - Xorg glitches
I've just tried 4.13.2, screen is still blinking while on with the default i915.enable_rc6=1. There is an improvement though. On the kernel version 4.13 my laptop was totally crashing after hitting caps-lock twice. Now this ridiculous one is at least gone. Although I still need to keep the rc6=0 flag at kernel boot params to prevent screen flickering (an external one, connected via HDMI).

[Bug 742544] Re: Launcher is shown on the wrong screen in some multi-monitor setups
Thanks, I did. This is probably out of scope here but I would like to get a bit focus about that fact. This bug with with another one (or design decision - not sure) leads to a silly situation. By another bug I mean notifications appear on the right most monitor (not the primary one as they should). In result: when considering multiple monitors setup there is no way to get dash and notifications on the same screen. No matter how one will connect or setup screens. Moreover the more monitors we connect, the greater gap between the dash and the notifications become. Let take f.e. 3 monitor setup. The center monitor probably will be the primary one where we would like to have both dash and the notifications. However dash with all launchers appears on the left monitor when notifications go to the right one leaving middle (primary) monitor 'empty' of most focus-important things. Kind of nonsense, isn't it? [Bug 331369] Re: regression vs. notification-daemon: positioning when multiple screens are available
Confirmed, problem still occurs on 11.10 (I'm on ATI binary drivers). Maybe it's somehow related to this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/742544?comments=all In both cases 'primary' flag for monitor is ignored.
