I have my xfdesktop configured to display my wallpapers with zoomed
style, cropping off any overflow when the image is aspect stretched to
fit my screen, instead of distorting the aspect ratio of the wallpaper
by forcing it to fit on all dimensions like stretched does.

xsettings/Gtk/ColorScheme property, but GTK 3 applications no longer
care about it. In 13.04, I used to be able to change the colors of both
GTK 2 and GTK 3 themes all with just that property, but now only GTK 2

Has any progress been made with this bug? According to upstream, it
doesn't look like it. This is especially annoying for me, as I have
Evolution open at startup w/ Alltray, and I use Mail Notification with
it. I usually get the same notifications at startup several times, and
when I open

Light border around windows

problem reported, and only now found the workaround. Is this an Ubuntu-
only thing? Do not many people use OpenJDK?
In any case, the workaround does work, except that I tweaked it to be
en_US instead of de_DE. I'm attaching two
characters and the like*. Too bad there's no edit button.

Downgrading helped part of the problem, as did installing sun-
java6-fonts. But spacing is still excessively large. I'll add

Did 6b09 fix the spacing issue for you? As in the screenshot?
I had 6b11 installed before. The current version. Downgrading was really
tough. I had to remove all of them and then specifically install 6b09
with each package, through synaptic. Maybe I should have purged instead
of removing?

Correction: Through aptitude, not synaptic. It's impossible to downgrade
anything with dependencies through synaptic.

The aircrack-ng driver worked for me, to get me wi-fi network and
internet access. However, it wasn't really all that reliable. I noticed
that download speeds in Firefox, Update Manager, and Synaptic would
sometimes drop to 0kb/s / Unknown. Signal strength for the current
