[Bug 1658996] Re: welcome stays empty

2017-04-01 Thread Utz
Before I did see the last comment I did some more tests. I upgraded vbox
(from 5.1.16 to 5.1.18) together with the guest additions. This removed
the library loading problem. Next I did set the font-dpi=96 so this
warning goes away too (it anyway defaults to 96 ...)

Here is the current output:
[Debug] Overriding font DPI to 96.
[Debug] Verbose mode enabled.
[Welcome] Using /usr/share/ubuntu-mate-welcome/ path.

I will try with a fresh install eventually if I do find the time. BTW I
installed - on the same day - a physical machine with the same 17.04 dev
build and never faced that problem. Seams it is a combination of
vboxvideo and WebKitWebView.

[Bug 1509801] Re: Bluetooth not working after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10

Meanwhile the keyboard is working too. I can't really tell what made the
change. I suspect that fully switching off the tablet for some hours did
reset something in the device?

[Bug 1509801] [NEW] Bluetooth not working after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10

2015-10-25 Thread Utz
Public bug reported:

I have a Acer w700 with Bluetooth keyboard and a Logitech Mouse M555b. In 15.04
all was working fine, both paired and working.
Now after the Upgrade:
No Bluetooth icon visible (but I could get it back using system settings,
Bluetooth and set the check box.

If I search on my cellphone to find the tablet it does not show up
anything (as if it is not running). But my Bluetooth settings on the
tablet say "on" and "visible".

[Bug 1509801] Re: Bluetooth not working after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10

2015-10-25 Thread Utz
I think the problem is partially solved. Problem source: "Problem exists
between monitor and chair"
Solution: For some reason the generic Linux image was not any more installed. I
guess it was when I was tinkering around with a user build kernel to avoid it
been replaced on next update. So I was still with a 3.something version. After
installing the current Linux kernel some Bluetooth related problems are gone.
I can now see my tablet from other devices
The mouse connects automatically as before.

The remaining problem is the connection to the keyboard.

[Bug 1244873] Re: wifi and networking not working after system suspend

2013-10-26 Thread Michael Utz
Same problem here. My USB wireles LAN adapter worked fine with Xubuntu
13.04.

Now after upgrading to Xubuntu version 13.10, my network does not work
any more after resuming from hibernation. I can see the device in
Network Settings, but the task bar symbol is disappeared and I cannot
get any connection. This problem disappears only after rebooting the
system.

[Bug 1241505] [NEW] Wireless keyboard does not work after grub, and until after encrypted root volume is unlocked

2013-10-18 Thread Michael Utz
Public bug reported:

After an upgrade from xubuntu 13.04 (kernel 3.8.xx) to xubuntu 13.10 (kernel
3.11.x) my wireless USB keyboard refuses to work,
but only after grub starts the boot process. The keyboard works in BIOS and
also within the legacy grub menus, but then fails when I am asked to enter the
crypt-setup passphrase to unlock my
root partition. Once unlocked (with help of an old PS/2 keyboard), the kernel
apparently has access to additional
modules and the wireless keyboard begins to work again. This problem does not
happen when I start xubuntu 13.10 with the old 3.8.xx kernel. Thanks!

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)

 Status: Incomplete

[Bug 1241505] Re: Wireless keyboard does not work after grub, and until after encrypted root volume is unlocked

Adding logfiles (by apport) is quite impossible because the system does
not start further than to the point where I have to enter the crypt-
setup passphrase.
