I've noticed this since sometime last year but as I'm thoroughly sick of
it, I've finally taken to reporting it.
The Firefox password autocomplete pop-up, the one that shows when you
double click a form field to select from a REMEMBERED password, is
sometimes DISPLACED.
Anders, I don't think it's a duplicate of that bug. I can resolve CNAMEs
just fine with systemd-resolve. The problem that I saw was with domains
that dig otherwise returned the "Message malformed" complaint.

Here, I've also queried just ubuntu.com which resolves fine, for

Some domains are not resolved with default systemd-resolved set up on
Ubuntu 16.10. This set up is querying the DNS server given by DHCP, and
is my ISP's router.
Now, checking with `dig` directly against 192.168.1.1 (the router), dig

Btw, it _is_ interacting with resolv.conf because my "Search domains" I

Got this too whenever I use apt, on fresh new 16.10 installation:

This file seems to have been left over from I don't know which package

Installed 16.10. Without nvidia drivers the boot splash and password
prompt are fine. With nvidia drivers, the boot splash appears (unlike in
16.04), but it's not interactive. Removing "splash" and "quiet" from the
kernel command line again allows a normal text-only prompt and continued
boot.

Public bug reported:
I'm filing a bug report against initramfs-tools because I don't know
which package is better. The initrd file produced by "update-initramfs"
cannot be unpacked with cpio:
$ file /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-36-generic
/boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-36-generic: ASCII cpio archive (SVR4
I don't know if this is related, but the initrd looks broken, though the
system obviously boots fine (encrypted root). I tried running update-
initramfs, but it's the same:
$ file /boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-36-generic
/boot/initrd.img-4.4.0-36-generic: ASCII cpio archive (SVR4 with no CRC)
$ stat

Just got the nvidia driver update from 361 to 367. Upon reboot, the boot
splash (plymouth?) with the password prompt for the encrypted root is
missing.
The screen flashes dark purple and the switches to black with a blinking
cursor echoing anything typed. Ctrl-alt-del
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get any notifications of your
response. After I reported this issue there were a couple of updates to
ZFS. This problem never occurred again, and there were several updates
that redid initramfs, kernel, etc..., with the pool being imported and
mounted. Didn't

First of all, you're basing on GNOME but breaking the functionality of

What does "Fix Released" mean exactly? I got here because my bug

Ubuntu/unity is going down the drain. Bugs such as these impair
productivity for MONTHS and nobody seems to care. What good are shiny
new features developed every six months if you cannot stabilize your
platform and make it actually USABLE to power users?
This, along with broken Alt-Tab behavior
Is this vulnerability present in 8.71 too?
