[Bug 1453298]

2015-10-14 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
With kernel 4.1, the system was relatively stable. I would probably get
1 freeze in a couple of weeks. Upgrading to 4.2 causes massive freezes,
both during playback and if kodi just shows its first screen. Freezes
happen within an hour of playback, and maybe within 12 if nothing is
being played.

[Bug 335320] Re: Evince unable to open zip/rar comic files

2009-05-27 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
@Pedro Villavicencio

This is kind of a late reply, but that logic seems a bit off. Evince
already has some way of determining whether a cb[z|r] can be opened or
not. If you rename a zip file that contains images to cbr (rar), it will
still open it. If you rename another type of file to cbz (or a zip file
without images in it), then it will display an error.

So what's the problem then? If evince just tries to open any zip files
as if they are cbz files, any current behaviour will still work without
any newly introduced regressions. If the zip file is not really a cbz,
it will throw an error just like it does now (which also proves that
there is some support for figuring out what exactly the file is). Maybe
this bug should be reopened.

[Bug 334824] [NEW] google calendar source regression

2009-02-26 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

There seems to be a regression in the way google calendar sources are
added to the evolution calendar.

With evolution versions in Intrepid, bringing up a new calendar dialog
allows for typing in the username and password for the google accound.

With the version that is shipped with Jaunty Alpha, the only input area
in the dialog is for the name of the calendar itself. There are no
fields for adding a username/password.

[Bug 332241] [NEW] nautilus folder sharing fails to share a directory

2009-02-20 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-share

On a new installation of Jaunty Jackalope (updated to the latest
packages) without any modifications, Nautilus fails to share a directory
using the Sharing Options context item.

The services install fine, and I do restart the session.

Upon selecting the desired options (Share this forlder and Guest
access in this case), the dialog presents this error:

'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot convert
name Everyone to a SID. The connection was refused. Maybe smbd is not
running.

This should work without me doing anything, yet it doesn't at this
stage.

[Bug 230137] Re: hibernate fails on dell m1330

2008-09-26 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Hi,

I've tested this bug (same laptop) using the vanilla 2.6.27-rc7 kernel on Hardy.
Hibernating from gnome still doesn't work. Same issues, on reboot, the system
boots normally, instead of resuming.
Hibernating from enlightenment doesn't shutdown the laptop, but immediately
resumes the session.
Hibernating using c2disk is a hit-and-miss experience. Half the time I try it,
the system resumes fine. The other half, the system appears to resume (audio
for instance resumes), but the system itself remains a black screen.

Though I think the changes introduced in that version of the dbus

compensate for users not using KDE/GNOME/xfce

[Bug 242006] Re: scaling_max_freq constantly shifting between minimum and maximum frequency

2008-06-22 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
some additional info:

forgot to add to the description that the cpu is an intel core 2 duo
t7500

This behaviour also occurs in a vanilla 2.6.25.7 kernel.

Also, setting the scaling_min_freq value to the maximum value before the
start of the cycle does not stop it. Furthermore, when the system is
under a lot of load (compiling a kernel, playing a cpu-intensive game),
the cpu is always scaled to its lowest value, although this may just be
a coincidence.

[Bug 242006] [NEW] scaling_max_freq constantly shifting between minimum and maximum frequency

2008-06-21 Thread Viktor Kojouharov
Public bug reported:

This is a regression in Hardy, as this behaviour was not present in
Gutsy

With the upgrade to hardy (and the new 2.6.24 kernel), the cpu frequency
switching started misbehaving quite badly. Regardless of the system
load, the scaling_max_freq value will suddently, but quickly, decrease
(pass through all available middle frequencies) until it reaches the
lowest available frequency. Then, it will stay there for a duration of
time (more than 10 minutes), regardless of the system load. During this
time, it is not possible to raise the cpu frequency in any way.
switching the governor from ondemand to performance has no effect
(probably because of the limiting factor of scaling_max_freq). After
this undefined period of time is over, the value of the
scaling_max_freq will quickly rise to its maximum value, passing
through each available frequency in between.

This cycle of maximum frequency change repeats indefinitely, at
seemingly random intervals. Furthermore, it is not possible to change
the scaling_max_freq value. Although echoing a new valid value with
not produce any errors, a 'cat' immediately after the echo will show the
old value.

This is some information while the cycle is in its minimum phase:
===
:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ cat scaling_available_frequencies
2201000 220 160 120 80
:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ cat scaling_governor

:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ cat scaling_min_freq
80
:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ cat scaling_max_freq
80
:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ uptime
   load average: 1.43, 1.47, 1.45
:/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ uname -r

There is a problem with the gvfs and/or gvfs-backends package in hardy-

[Bug 239551] [NEW] nautilus connect to server dialog empty

Public bug reported:

The problem I'm experiencing is that Nautilus lost its ability to access
any URI other than file://.

Because of this, the following problems arise:

1. Nautilus cannot access URIs begining with smb://, ssh://, ftp://, dav://, etc
2. The Connect to server dialog contains the Custom location as the only
service type
3. Going to the Trash from Places hangs Nautilus (while using 100% CPU)
