Since my new fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04 I can't have a good
experience.
Use a simple gEdit is impossible because the text area is not showed in
a white background but "cloning" everything that were in that screen
position curiously it not happen with Leafpad editor. But
This bug is affecting me, too.
I were trying to use my printer HP Laserjet 1020 in my new fresh instalation
of gnome Ubuntu 14.04 but it failed.
Even using HPLIP 3.14.6 from oficial site (http://hplipopensource.com/) the
error is the same.

The synergy's connection closes just when a use a special key like SHIFT
for capitalize a letter, CTRL to get a shortcut, ALT etc.
It is not a crash application but only the connection that is
interrupted. If I open the synergy window, click stop and start again it
works again.

and use the whole device. it was partitioned, formated and and the file
copy started. At about 40% I received a error message that said it would
be aborted.

I've just upgraded my system from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04RC. Before I had
done that my video were ok with a drive I had got from ATI site (ati-
driver-installer-10-3-x86.x86_64.run).
After upgrade I can't anymore neither install this driver, nor that
official package

Your are right and I solved the problem getting this file in another
repository e copying it to /var/cache/apt/archive before I try another
system upgrade.
I'd like to support a suggestion about this problem: If the Adept had
not found a specific file in my mirror
