[Bug 1966091] Re: Random noises with 5.13.0-37-generic but not with 5.13.0-35-generic

2022-03-24 Thread WirelessMoves
Same here, I have a Lenovo X13 Gen1 notebook with an AMD 4750U Ryzen
processor. The integrated sound chip works without problem, but when
using the sound card in the Lenovo USB dock, the problem appears.
Rebooted several times but the problem persists. Downgrading to the
5.13.0-35 kernel removes the problem.

[Bug 1950339] Re: Screen stays black after going idle or waking up from suspend on AMD laptop

2022-01-19 Thread WirelessMoves
Same here, I have a Lenovo X13, also with an AMD 4750U. Screen shows
random noise after suspend/resume with 5.13 kernel. Reverting back to
5.11 kernels removes the problem. I also installed a 5.15 kernel and
here, things are also working again.

Might be related to this:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/1783

Unfortunately, the 5.15 kernel is no option for me as Virtualbox DKMS
doesn't compile the drivers (due to newer glibc used in the 5.15 kernel
compared to Ubuntu 20.04)

[Bug 1787867] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS bluetooth left discoverable

2019-10-06 Thread WirelessMoves
I can confirm the behavior. At least its possible to deactivate
'discoverable' and 'discovery' on the command line:

sudo hiconfig hci0 noscan

Interesting: This survives a reboot!

Note: 'discoverable' and 'discovery' is switched-on again when selecting
the Bluetooth settings.

[Bug 1764172] [NEW] Unable to change hostname

2018-04-15 Thread WirelessMoves
Public bug reported:

In Bionic Beta 2 I am not able on a host or in a guest VM to change the
hostname of a Bionic Beta 2 installation by changing /etc/hostname. The
name in the file can be changed but it always reverts to the hostname
configured during installation.

In the following thread on the topic it is suggested to remove a number
of cloud packages. When doing this in a VM install I could change the
hostname again via /etc/hostname.

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2389098=2

** Affects: hostname (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Package changed: update-notifier (Ubuntu) => hostname (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1733557] Re: Login screen showing Authentication Failure Switch to greeter...

2018-03-15 Thread WirelessMoves
Update to #37 and #38 reporting the issue on 16.04 LTS: The issue went
away as silently as it initially came. Ran another apt update/upgrade
today, totally different packages updated and then rebooted.
'Authentication Failure' in the lock screen is now gone, even after
several reboots.

For completeness here are the packages that updated, I don't see a
comonality here.:

Affects me, too.

I'm trying to understand what the status is behind the Bugzilla link you
mentioned in #2. As far as I understand it means a fix has been proposed
already back in 2014 but it never went into the package upstream?
