[Bug 907837] Re: Scrollbars - difficult to resize panels with overlay scrollbar
adrian-v: Fix released for a package (here, it is for overlay- scrollbar (Ubuntu)) means the current development release (currently, raring). If it is backported to the current stable or LTS release, it will be specified in the bug report. But... I'm currently on raring with an up-to-date overlay-scrollbar (0.2.16+r359daily13.02.06-0ubuntu1) and I tried resizing the left panel in Nautilus, but it doesn't seem to work. Nothing has changed from before: I only get the horizontal resize cursor for a fraction of second before the overlay scrollbar appears, and then, I can't get the resize cursor to appear on the thumb. Even if I try resizing from the thumb, nothing happens. I see both branches are Needs Fixing by jenkins, so maybe the fix never actually got anywhere? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/907837 Title: Scrollbars - difficult to resize panels with overlay scrollbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/907837/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1055793] [NEW] During upgrade, debconf asks about a modified file after an LTS upgrade
Public bug reported: During an upgrade from Precise to Quantal, I got a debconf prompt asking if I want to replace a configuration file. But the difference was between 'Prompt=normal' and 'prompt=normal' (capitalization). I didn't edit this file manually, and I remember having seen this prompt on another computer, so it means that when the option to see all upgrades (instead of just LTS ones) is checked, it is wrote in a different way from what has been set as default for Quantal. So either debconf should not bother me about a capitalisation difference, or the default config file of Quantal should be written the same way as what is written by the update-manager's properties window. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the package with this prompt, so I'm guessing it was update-manager. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dist-upgrade ** Tags added: dist-upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055793 Title: During upgrade, debconf asks about a modified file after an LTS upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1055793/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 681348] Re: Build show me the desktop mini-app that adds a show desktop button to Launcher
** Description changed: Keyboard shortcut to minimise all windows required. Description: Ubuntu used to have a button on the bottom left corner of the screen that minimised all windows. [Bug 988997] Re: Keyboard shortcuts - Update some window management shortcuts to use Ctrl + Super instead of just Super (Part 2)
About the show desktop shortcut, which is one of the most well known shortcuts, I think it would be better to keep the existing Ctrl + Alt + D. If the rational is that Ctrl + Shift is used to interact on a window while Ctrl + Alt lets interacting with workspaces, I would argue that while Ctrl + Shift interacts with the current window, this is not what Show desktop does. It hides all the windows. Seen another way, it lets us view the workspace behind the current windows. So I don't think that Ctrl + Alt + D to show the desktop would contradict the new Ctrl + Shift vs Ctrl + Alt distinction. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988997 Title: Keyboard shortcuts - Update some window management shortcuts to use Ctrl + Super instead of just Super (Part 2) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/988997/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 987023] [NEW] Upgrading to a new release displays a fuzzy icon in the launcher
Public bug reported: In Oneiric, type `update-manager -d`, accept the upgrade. A new window opens, which uses a new launcher item instead of the main update-manager icon. The new icon is low resolution, and doesn't display a progress bar, like the main update-manager launcher item does. And it is possible to launch another instance of the distrib upgrade window. Yes it is, thaks for asking. Gigabyte is gigaoctet in French, so GB is translated to Go. But you can see the translation can still be too long in the attached screenshot, as the French translators use the binary prefix (kibi instad of kilo), so the filter 100 kio doesn't fit. A bit off topic, but this is what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_prefix http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octet_(computing) In the Music lens, the decade filters now fit, but they needed to translate them to 60s, which is understandable in the context, but not something any French would write or say. Re: [Bug 160311] Re: Resizing windows by grabbing window borders is difficult
Renzo: In precise (ubuntu 12.04), you can resize the window by grabbing the overlay scrollbar, which is much larger than the border, and available regardless of the session type (unity-2d or anything else). Yann Dìnendal On Fri, Mar 9, 2012 at 16:42, Renzo Bagnati 160...@bugs.launchpad.netwrote: Are there any plans to address this bug for unity-2d, after having marked it as critical? Recently the resize grips in the bottom right corner have been entirely removed from precise, leaving the resize process of windows very difficult in unity-2d. I use the attached script (50_light-themes-borders) in /etc/X11/Xsession.d to copy the Ambiance and Radiance themes to the $HOME/.themes user directory and then modify the border width to 3 pixels, for normal frame geometry. The modifications are made only if unity-2d session is used and are reverted for other sessions. However the script may break if changes are made to the original themes. In fact, of all the windows I have open right now, not a single one of them has a resize handle. The result is that I get a lot of misses when I try to drag a window border, which usually results in my clicking on the wrong window altogether. The best fix for this usability bug is to create an invisible region around each non-maximized window about 4px thick that can be used for resizing (in addition to the visible border). Or perhaps there should be a border thickness option on the System Preferences Windows dialog (although the default thickness should still be increased considerably). Ideally all windows would also have a resize handle but I realize that these have to be application controlled (at least that seems to be the position of the metacity team). [Bug 876447] Re: Two-finger scrolling scrolls horizontally and vertically simultaneously
I think it would be nice allowing scrolling down and then right without raising the fingers, and only preventing when scrolling diagonally or when the sideway move is much shorter than the original scroll (aka, a wobble).
