[Bug 1622313] Re: gparted does not recognize the iso9660 file system in cloned Ubuntu USB boot drives

2017-02-07 Thread alan ezust
What I hope is that after this issue is resolved, it will be possible to
use partitioneditor and make additional partitions on the stick -
otherwise all the extra space is wasted. It's not easy to find USB3
sticks less than 16gb these days.

Current workaround is to use either

jtightvncviewer or gvncviewer

Neither of them seem to exhibit these problems connecting to macos.

[Bug 131133] Re: [gutsy] no sound on Dell Latitude D630/D830/Precision M4300/Vostro 1500/1700/Apple Aluminium iMac/Acer TM6292 pci id 8086:284b

2008-04-29 Thread alan ezust
Someone please test this with a DELL D630 and an external microphone.
The problem with the older version was that you can plug an external mic but it
always uses the internal mic.

[Bug 153119] Re: Capture quality problematic on Dell Latitude D630

2008-04-18 Thread alan ezust
First, this problem is similar to mine. Plugging an external microphone seems
to have no effect at all,
adn it is using the condenser microphone which sounds like crap. D630.
Linux 2.6.23-11

Since i am using Debian lenny and not Ubuntu, it would help if someone
would explain exactly what needs to be ugraded (alsa or the kernel?) to
get the external microphone to work on a D630.

[Bug 90681] Re: resolv.conf overwritten using VPN/PPP etc...

2007-12-11 Thread alan ezust
My problem is related: I want to *add* an extra domain to my search
list, so I modify /etc/resolv.conf and my changes to it are lost shortly
afterwards (on reboot, or on DNS renew).

If there was another config file where I could place additional 'search'
domains or DNS servers, or DNS servers themselves, then it could be
added to resolv.conf when it gets overwritten, and that would solve my
problem.

[Bug 139699] Re: [Gutsy] No sound on Dell Latitude D630 with Intel HDA (ICH8)

2007-12-11 Thread alan ezust
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 131133 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131133

I can confirm, I had the same problem. I had to delete the actual intel
driver in /lib/modules, and then install alsa-drivers, alsa-libs, and
alsa-utils from source in order to get sound working.

I thought it was supposed to be *easier* than debian to set up sound,
but all the forums tell me that I need alsaconf, which doesn't exist in
ubuntu.
