[Bug 1888245] [NEW] tilda won't start reliably / intermitent , won't resize

2020-07-20 Thread anne ranch
Public bug reported:

I just switched to tilda and having issues
1. It won't always start from "applications"
2. cannot resize the window
3. it will not "pass completion" to gnome launcher. The chained CLI (&& or ||)
command string will execute only first command - which is tilda ( not sure if
this is tilda or launcher issue )
Ununtu 16

I can confirm that pavucontrol shows moving sounds bars with an Output
Device called "Headphones (unplugged)" and that the Configuration shows
"High Fidelity (A2DP Sink) Unplugged" and "High Fidelity Capture (A2DP

[Bug 1668129] Re: Amazon I3 Instance Buffer I/O error on dev nvme0n1

2017-02-27 Thread Anne-Marie
I find it is easy to reproduce by using "dd if=/dev/zero of=big bs=4096"
-- I generally get errors within a few minutes.

[Bug 1641380] Re: chromium-browser: ERR_CERTIFICATE_TRANSPARENCY_REQUIRED for Symantec certs

2016-12-12 Thread Anne
Installing the deb package from the link mentioned in #68 doesn't resolve the
issue for me.
I tried moving to unstable chromium 54 but it just crashes on every second page
and is therefore also not an option for me.

Is this again the problem of the 10 weeks old build? Is there any chance
that this can be fixed just like the last time this error appeared?

[Bug 519839] Re: untranslatable strings in sbackup

2015-08-03 Thread Anne
With the latest version of sbackup (0.11.6):
2) in Simple Backup Retore - Destination tab, the sentence Use custom is not
translated in French.
The tab is not visible anymore in the interface, everything is translated
especially Destination personnalisée which is maybe the translation for Use
custom (see attachment).

[Bug 1323089] Re: wpa_supplicant writes to syslog every 2 minutes

2015-02-11 Thread Anne van Rossum
Apparently wpa_supplicant is run with a verbosity level above your
liking:

ps aux | grep wpa
root  1389  0.0  0.0  30704  5400 ?Ss   20:51   0:00
/sbin/wpa_supplicant -B -P /run/sendsigs.omit.d/wpasupplicant.pid -u -s -O
/var/run/wpa_supplicant

You can adjust this:

cat /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/fi.w1.wpa_supplicant1.service
[D-BUS Service]
Name=fi.w1.wpa_supplicant1
Exec=/sbin/wpa_supplicant -B -P /run/sendsigs.omit.d/wpasupplicant.pid -u -s
-qq -O /var/run/wpa_supplicant
User=root
SystemdService=wpa_supplicant.service

The wpa_supplicant utility accepts a -q or -qq flag, which will make it
less verbose. See man wpa_supplicant.

Yash's request since 2010, I've run the command myself and post the
results here.

[Bug 1213336] [NEW] postgresql renders ' ' ' as ' ' in a returned query from kexi

2013-08-17 Thread Anne Wainwright
Public bug reported:

This is fixed in current stable kexi 2.7.1 but (using Mint 14 Nadia =
Ubuntu Quantal) we are only up to 2.5.3

currently every exported data set has to be run through a perl script to
handle the effects of this in various ways. thus:

'quoting issues in postgresql' shows as quoting issues in postgresql
postgresql's shows as postgresqls
programmers'  shows as postgresqls

can we get this upgraded please?

[Bug 1070529] Re: update-initramfs stuck after quantal upgrade

2012-10-31 Thread Anne van Rossum
I encountered this bug on Upgrade from 11.04 to 11.10. I have my home
drive encrypted.

Solved by disabling FRAMEBUFFER=y in /usr/share/initramfs-tools/conf-
hooks.d/cryptsetup

[code]
# This will setup non-us keyboards in early userspace,
# necessary for punching in passphrases.
KEYMAP=y

# force busybox on initramfs
BUSYBOX=y

# and for systems using plymouth instead, use the new option
#FRAMEBUFFER=y
[/code]

[Bug 1065759] [NEW] Firefox doesn't ask about cookies for foxnews.com

2012-10-11 Thread Anne Fairchild
Public bug reported:

When I have the cookies set to ask me every time and I go to
www.foxnews.com it doesn't ask me about cookies and several page
elements aren't showing up. The Watch Now links on the right side of
the page and the images in the Feature and Faces section and lower
don't show up.

Workaround: I can either set the cookies to accept all cookies or add
foxnews.com to the exceptions manually. When working correctly cookies
from foxnews.com and sso.foxnews.com are set and the page appears
correctly.

[Bug 1053292] Re: update-manager crashed with RuntimeError in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/gi/overrides/Gtk.py: Gtk couldn't be initialized

2012-09-27 Thread Anne
This bug affects me but I'm having other troubles with the update-
manager. Once it has installed updates, it should relaunch itself and
check that the system is up-to-date but it doesn't. Most of the time the
result is that I can't boot the day after. Today, I had a complete black
screen, I could only use the tty. I suspected that the problem came from
update manager so I uninstalled it with the option --purge. After that I
made an apt-get update, re-installed update-manager and re-run apt-get
update. It appeared that some packages, all of them concerning gnome,
were not up-to-date. I ran an apt-get upgrade and rebooted. It was the
thing to do because it solved the problem.

I'm good! :)
