[Bug 804943] Re: blcr kernel module failed to build with kernel 3.0 : configure: error: --with-linux argument '3.0-x' is neither a kernel version string nor a full path

2012-05-09 Thread asaijo
BLCR currently doesn't support linux-3.* kernel.

https://hpcrdm.lbl.gov/pipermail/checkpoint/2012-January/000365.html
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=638339

I thought openMPI / MPICH2 package should build without blcr checking
point modules.

I installed libmpich-shmem package for MPI programs.

[Bug 303224] Re: garbled Emacs display when running under compiz with nvidia drivers

2010-09-15 Thread asaijo
This is really annoying. Emacs buffer text is messed by random color and
unreadable. ( NVIDIA-180 driver, Compiz enabled)
I don't want to disable Compiz visual effects because transparency and expose
are very useful.

My workaround:

get old NVIDIA driver (version 173) and install it manually.

possible side effect:

I have to re-install the driver when linux kernel version changed.
sigh...

[Bug 434799] Re: X11 forwarding via SSH does not work after upgrade to karmic

2009-12-06 Thread asaijo
I can fix this problem.
Change /etc/default/ssh/ssh:
SSHD_OPTS=
to
SSHD_OPTS=-4
This lets the ssh-server use onlyq IPv4.
After chaning this setting, you should restart ssh-server:
# /etc/init.d/ssh restart
