2022-03-09 Thread avdzm

which we all now it is based on debian bullseye.

On debian's repo, qutebrowser is on version 2.0.2 (via apt).
Qutebrowser installed fine with no issues.

Now i am curious, if I install the apt version of qutebrowser (including
python3-pyside2.qtwebengine and python3-qtpy), if it will work.

now i am trying to get the webengie working. so far i have only manged

[Bug 1932005] Re: nm-applet not showing in system tray

2022-03-04 Thread avdzm
Hello all,

I've upgraded to the latest 20.04.04 LTS, and network-manager is
1.22.10-1ubuntu2.3
nm-applet is still not showing in the system tray.

After a little of tinkering, I believe the issue is with the system tray.
I have tried loading flameshot that sits in the system tray, is also not
showing.

I've attach a screen shoot.

I have tried uninstall indicator-notifications and ayatana-indicator-
notifications and reinstalling them and no luck.

I have switched to awesomewm and openbox with polybar and tint2 and the
system tray work fine in those, except in mate enviroment.

[Bug 1963276] Re: Qutebrowser not launching on arm64

2022-03-04 Thread avdzm
Hello again,

I have managed to get the git version of qutebrowser working by installing 2
other packages.
python3-pyside2.qtwebengine and python3-qtpy.

I hope someone else finds this use full.

[Bug 1963276] Re: Qutebrowser not launching on arm64

2022-03-04 Thread avdzm
@Axel
From the link you provided in post 3.
I saw on debian uses a newer version than what is on ubuntu mate's repo.

So I have tried downloading source code for qutebrowser
https://github.com/qutebrowser/qutebrowser/archive/refs/tags/v2.4.0.tar.gz
run "setup.py install" runs successfully, but fails to launch with the same
error message.

CRITICAL: Could not initialize GLX

I have also tried using git clone to get the latest version (2.4.0 as well).
setup runs successfully, but it still fails to launch.

I have tried installing various packages that have glx in apt's repos, but no
luck.
Note: I have installed falcon just to try out, it launches and renders pages
fine,

I'll post a bug report on qutebrowser's page.

thank you all

[Bug 1850654] Re: update-initramfs complains of missing amdgpu firmware files

2020-04-11 Thread avdzm
Hello,
I have just installed a fresh Kubuntu 18.04.4 on a Dell Laptop 5575, with a AMD
Ryzen 7 2700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx running Kernel 5.3.0-46-generic.

I was update-ing the initramfs.
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-5.3.0-46-generic
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/amdgpu/vega20_ta.bin for module
amdgpu
W: Possible missing firmware /lib/firmware/amdgpu/navi10_mes.bin for module
amdgpu

I would like to create an apport report, though I am not sure in which package
it belongs too.
is it xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu or under xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu-hwe-18.04 or
a diffrent packgage entirely.

[Bug 1482188] Re: 14.04.2 Installer downloads updates even when not selected to do so

2016-02-09 Thread avdzm
Hello all,

This is happening to me too on Ubuntu 12.04.

I have unchecked some updates for example.
Libreoffice, firefox and thunderbird.

I do not use these apps so i do not see on the need to update them.

So i have unchecked them on the update manager.
But when you click on "install updates"
it downloads the entire list, even the unchecked ones.

right this moment i am trying to update my pc, excluding libre office, firefox
and thunderbird.
I have cancelled the update for the moment.

so I am available to try some things or post some information that is
required.

I believe that a new user to linux might not understand user name alone.
I think it should be user Files, I don't think there is a translation issue,
in Greek it works.

[Bug 128452] Re: brightness control usability issues

2008-03-03 Thread avdzm
Hey all,

I've got a little problem with the brightness,
when i lower the brightness with the function (fn) keys and when
the screen dims (due to idle) when i move the mouse the screen goes to the
original setting in power management (full brightness),

instead of what i choose (with the fn keys).
