According to the response form Greg K-H on the kernel mailing list, the kernel cannot support DisplayLink (as of ID 17e9:4318 DisplayLink ), because there are no specs available. Apparently, I was trying to generate a 32-bit kernel on a 64-bit machine (this was by accident).
