[Bug 582376] Re: Samba (nmbd) fails to start at boot

2010-07-31 Thread blazk
I am on a netbook with Maverick Meerkat and have the same problem. I seem to
have fixed it by changing
/etc/init/nmbd.conf line
   start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE!=lo)
to
   start on (local-filesystems)

[Bug 257190] Re: Setting status to 'Hidden' changes status to 'Busy' instead

2010-03-27 Thread blazk
I can confirm having this problem with google account in Lucid Beta.
This is very annoying. If the 'invisible' is not supported by Empathy it
should not offer such option, instead it sets you to 'Busy' and you
don't even know about it.

I mean Empathy shows 'Invisible' status icon but other people see you as
'Busy'. Why it is set to low priority, it seems to be serious issue.

[Bug 373245] Re: karmic: wakeups kernel core : hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer)

2009-11-09 Thread blazk
It is somewhat dissapointing that this bug seems to get little attention
from the kernel devs so far.. I'm affected too, ubuntu 9.10 with stock
kernel on toshiba nb 200

[Bug 435257] Re: Karmic takes forever to install on a Toshiba NB 200

2009-10-29 Thread blazk
I can confirm that switching Dynamic CPU Frequency Mode from Dynamic to
Always Low in BIOS makes installation process much faster. Tested on TOSHIBA
NB200-N12 and Ubuntu 9.10 network installation from mini.iso image.
(thanks for the tip Antonio!)

[Bug 460761] [NEW] Cannot disable password authentication for sudo

2009-10-25 Thread blazk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sudo

Hello,

I added myself to the sudo group:
sudo usermod -a -G sudo myusername
then used 'visudo' to modify /etc/sudoers according to the instructions in the
comments
(i.e. uncommented %sudo ALL=NOPASSWD: ALL line)

then logged out and logged in again. But 'sudo' keeps asking for
password.

my karmic was installed from mini.iso image.
