To put my 2 cents in, audio doesnt' work at all if I plug my analog headphones: it lets me choose what kind of device I am plugging in and then no sound at all. i think a backport would be usefull, i'm on kernel 3.12 at the moment but it's not very intuitive to install it and definitely not easy for a beginner.
