In im-config, changing input method from ibus to xim solved my problem.
By just killing ibus the dead accent keys for ä or ^ for ê stopped
working in gnome applications.

Similar problem here with a netbook with Intel Centrino-N 130 and kernel
3.2.6-2 (Arch). Tried with both NetworkManager and Wicd. However, the problem
disappears with:

To be a bit more specific, these are currently the last lines of my
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Same problem here. Put auto in fstab to replace udf,iso9660,
installed and configured udftools, all without result.
Also tried to mount with -o ro,session=0, which gives a no fileset found in
dmesg.
mount with -o ro,session=1 (2,3...) results in no partition found (1).
