forget to mention test result: same vendor request failed with -110 event long timeout BTW, this looks like this is a bad adapter, however, I tried this adapter in Win10, it definitely can work. In Windows, it must install dirver files from another company named Tplink, but from lsusb, its chip is from Ralink, whether the Tplink driver in Win10 might use some different vendor specific request ? I meant, Tplink driver uses some different request to implement some function, however, Tplink still uses Ralink USB id(146f:7601), so, if this, timeout (-110) will occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1716301 Title: wifi driver: mt7601u not work on 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1716301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I tried kernel 4.13. however, no much diff with kernel 4.4.0-91. I must mention that in both kernel, no ALAWAYS the adapter is automatically recoginized as 148f:7601, sometimes, it still mounted as 148f:2878, sometimes, it's 7601. ( I found the pattern is: unplug the adapter, wait a relative long time, e.g: 1 or 2 minutes, plug the adapter, then it's 7601. if immediately plug in the adapter, say just wait 10 seconds, mostly, it's mounted as usb stroage disk and will not change to 7601). some workaround: to disable touchpad, add a line in .bashrc gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.peripherals.touchpad touchpad-enabled false another way to adjust brightness: 1. cd /sys/class/backlight/$COM_backlight/ 2. check the value in the file: max_brightness 3. sudo open the file:brightness and set it to [0, max-brightness), NOTE: MUST < max-brightness. for convinence, create a shell script, and sudo it. #!/bin/bash # NOTE: the prefer value MUST < max-brightness. echo "you prefer value" > /sys/class/backlight/$COM_backlight/brightness reference: http://askubuntu.com/questions/540911/how-to-adjust-screen-brightness-in-ubuntu-14-04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270579 Title: On laptops, screen brightness and keyboard backlight isn't memorized between sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1270579/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 502484] Re: Incorrect checksum in table [OEMB]
Hello, whether this fix has been delivered to the Upgrade Server ? I encountered this problem on the latest 10.04, (have ran apt-get update;apt-get upgrade;) $uname -a Linux delta1 2.6.32-30-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 21:30:21 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux please see the attached dmesg.txt Can you give some ideas how to fix this ? ( I have concern because my ubuntu box sometimes randomly hang (interval is about 3 hours),I am not sure whether the reason is related to apci or not, but I found this error in the dmesg). [Bug 502255] Re: Sound crackling in Ubuntu 10.04 with SB Audigy
Hello, I also encountered the this problem in 10.04. (a totally installation, not upgrade) the problem scenario is, after reboot, in the beginning, the sound is audible, however, once changing the sound volume or drag the progress bar in the Totem Movie Player, the sound becomes crackling noise. I triedapt-get update;apt-get upgrade, and re-installed the alsa-base packages. Following is my box info, ( I tried apport-collect -p alsa-base 502255, but it prompted that: Error showing url: Failed to execute child process /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.6/firefox (No such file or directory) $uname -a Linux delta1 2.6.32-30-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 1 21:30:21 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux $ lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 Host Bridge Alternate 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 PCI to PCI bridge (int gfx) 00:04.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] RS780 PCI to PCI bridge (PCIE port 0) 00:11.0 SATA controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 SATA Controller [IDE mode] 00:12.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:12.1 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700 USB OHCI1 Controller 00:12.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI Controller 00:13.0 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI0 Controller 00:13.1 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700 USB OHCI1 Controller 00:13.2 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB EHCI Controller 00:14.0 SMBus: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 SMBus Controller (rev 3c) 00:14.1 IDE interface: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 IDE Controller 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) 00:14.3 ISA bridge: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 LPC host controller 00:14.4 PCI bridge: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 PCI to PCI Bridge 00:14.5 USB Controller: ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800 USB OHCI2 Controller 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K10 [Opteron, Athlon64, Sempron] HyperTransport Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K10 [Opteron, Athlon64, Sempron] Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K10 [Opteron, Athlon64, Sempron] DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K10 [Opteron, Athlon64, Sempron] Miscellaneous Control 00:18.4 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K10 [Opteron, Athlon64, Sempron] Link Control 01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 9715 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
