[Bug 83338] Re: When returning from hibernate/suspend network manager fails to connect to a wireless network
I can also confirm this problem. This never used to happen to me. The only difference is that I am now using WPA instead of WEP security. This may have something to do with WPA_Supplicant if other people have this issue and they also use WPA. I tried restarting networking and no luck. I looked in syslog and saw some items that makes you think the wireless device no longer exists after hibernate. This could also just be a borked recent update as well. -- When returning from hibernate/suspend network manager fails to connect to a wireless network https://launchpad.net/bugs/83338 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I thought this may help. The log entries from 10:30-10:40 (in that range) should be from the new kernel that would not boot. [Bug 91794] Evolution not showing all e-mails in Inbox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I found an issue with Evolution and a possible idea on why it happens. My Evolution client right now is missing e-mails in the Inbox. The e-mails do exist in the Inbox file though. I can see them in the file in my home folder. They just don't seem to be eligible for screen display. I do know what is different about these e-mails though. I read them online earlier today. My e-mail is hosted by yahoo.ca and I read all the new e-mails today using yahoo's online webmail. When I came home and opened Evolution only the emails I didn't open in Yahoo's webmail show. Like I mentioned they are in the Inbox file at ~/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox, so they were downloaded from the POP3 server. This is kinda annoying as I have e-mails in my Inbox file that I can't access inside Evolution. Hope these details help. System specs: Feisty - All updates applied. [Bug 91794] Re: Evolution not showing all e-mails in Inbox
I just closed Evolution and also got these extra error messages in the terminal. process 29218: The last reference on a connection was dropped without closing the connection. This is a bug in an application. See dbus_connection_unref() documentation for details. Most likely, the application was supposed to call dbus_connection_close(), since this is a private connection. -- Evolution not showing all e-mails in Inbox https://launchpad.net/bugs/91794 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91794] Re: Evolution not showing all e-mails in Inbox
Well, I sort of feel like an idiot here. I found the e-mails... Yep - in my junk mail. I didn't even know that there was anything in there - The folder doesn't indicate if any messages are there so I always thought it was empty. That IMO is a bug in itself. I think at the very least if e-mail gets sent to the Junk mail folder it should be reset to unread and then the folder will show messages in it... well, I hope it does anyways. :) -- Evolution not showing all e-mails in Inbox https://launchpad.net/bugs/91794 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 87063] Re: Please package php5-mssql
I also agree with this. I am a php web developer and this is a pain. My company supports MYSQL and MSSQL backends and I use Linux at work and have to go through the hassle of building my own mssql module. I do use this method here: http://panthar.org/2006/06/15/php-with-mssql-on- ubuntu-606/ This works great and still works fine on Feisty. I think though that you guys could do this and include it in the repository for everyone to enjoy. Btw, when connecting to MSSQL from Linux the dates are always screwed up. You need to set the mssql.datetimeconvert to off or you'll get 1969's all over the place. ** Attachment added: Dkpg for 5.2.1 MSSQL if you want to add it. [Bug 91154] Evolution Syncing Http mail - frozen until done
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution If you have a http account or exchange account and open exchange the whole product is frozen until it connects and synchronizes the mail from those servers. If the net is slow or I got a lot of mail on the exchange server Evolution may take a few minutes to respond again. I have other accounts as well which are pop3 and they are unavailable until the system responds again. Almost seems like the account send/receive should be in its own process / thread so the application itself remains responsive. ou really feel this annoyance when you are just opening Evolution to read some info on a recent emailthat you need quickly and you have to wait a few minutes to see it because it is fetching... synching... ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Evolution Syncing Http mail - frozen until done https://launchpad.net/bugs/91154 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91154] Re: Evolution Syncing Http mail - frozen until done
I should add also, I am sure this happens with IMAP accounts and probably other types of accounts. I think the real issue is that syncing / fetching is not being handled in a separate process / thread so that evolution can remain responsive at all times. -- Evolution Syncing Http mail - frozen until done https://launchpad.net/bugs/91154 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91156] Beagle - system performance drain
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: beagle Not sure if this is isolated to me or because I am using Feisty but Beagle is a resource hog and I can feel the effects of it. It seems like the indexing is running at a higher priority than you would expect so the drive is spinning a lot. My whole system is much much slower when Beagle is doing its thing. I also find Beagle to take a very long time to index my home directory. It could be that I have evolution installed and Beagle indexes my mail and I have a lot of mail - thousands of e-mails. I suggest Beagle be benchmarked against a large file base and see if it should be optimized in bottle neck areas. Perhaps even have it run at a much lower priority if that is possible. I have uninstalled it now due to this annoyance. I am on Feisty with all current updates applied. ** Affects: beagle (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Beagle - system performance drain https://launchpad.net/bugs/91156 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91159] Synaptic focus returns inactive buttons still not active
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic Not sure if this is a synaptic issue or a window manager issue: When you click reload and Ubuntu starts downloading the new update files and your mouse is over the search button let's say. It is currently disabled while the new package files are being downloaded. When it is done and your mouse is still over that inactive search button which now is active since it is done, it is still unusable. You have to move your cursor off the button and back on for it to work. It almost seems like a general window manager issue that button status isn't rechecked when it's active status changes. To reproduce open Synaptic, click reload, while it is reloading place your mouse cursor which is usually a wait animated icon over the search button. Leave it there. When the reload finishes the search button will look active again - if you try and click it though it won't work. You need to move the mouse off the button and then back on. The button also doesn't show it is being hovered over until you move out and back in as well. I am on Feisty with all up current updates applied. ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Synaptic focus returns inactive buttons still not active https://launchpad.net/bugs/91159 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 91169] Drivers for Brother MFC-210c / 215C
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cupsys Just a driver request. Add more drivers to the default Ubuntu install for printers. Brother ones in particular as they provide them now for Linux for most of their printers. MC-210c is the one I use and the Brother drivers did work even though it was a horrendous pain installing them and getting things to work - their instructions are a bit weak so if the model existed in the driver pick list life would be so much easier. ** Affects: cupsys (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Drivers for Brother MFC-210c / 215C https://launchpad.net/bugs/91169 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
