the last comment i wrote, i tried to delete the status.xml under
.purple/ folder and re-create all the custome status messages. it works
for a while until now it happens again.
i found that when there is a difficulties in connecting MSN protocol,
this problem will re-occur.
now using pidgin
after delete the status.xml again under .purple/ now msn can connect
faster than before.
i suggest look into msn status message handling if i were right on
common sense. there is no way i could able to extract debug messages or
exact reproduce the problem here.

thanks for the information:
1. there is no apport crash shown for the incident.
2. i tried to install the yelp-dbg from the wiki link but i could not
find the package for executing this:
sudo apt-get install yelp-dbgsym=2.22.1-0ubuntu2.8.04.1
and i am using intrepid 8.10.

one funny thing is when i trying to install pidgin-dbg package
downloaded from
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/net/pidgin-dbg
* since getdeb.net and official repos does not have this version 2.5.3
inplace.
but yet the downloaded package refused to recognize i already have
2.5.3-1

just found out that exaile player with currentsong plugin enabled and
musictracker plugin enabled in pidgin will cause pidgin to crashed
without prompt.
i found out after examine system log file:

Just booted into ubuntu this morning, crash happens immediately after
desktop loaded. no dual boot, only default gnome application running.
this problem is very annoying... hope it can be fixed as soon as
possible.
