[Bug 1697556] Re: Computer freezes after login - 4.10.0-22-generic

2017-09-22 Thread dani_bs
@Hagen Kuehn (hag-k)

Thanks for your suggestions, I will pay more attention next time I will
add a comment.

I just want to say that after I changed the bug status to "Fix Released" I
could not change back to "Confirmed" because all the status was grayed and
disabled. So I added my comment <>.
I'm sorry for the inconvenient.

[Bug 1697556] Re: Computer freezes after login - 4.10.0-22-generic

2017-09-21 Thread dani_bs
I think is the same problem of kernel 4.10 described here:
-
https://askubuntu.com/questions/941211/ubuntu-16-04-freezes-with-4-10-kernel-and-nouveau-driver
- https://askubuntu.com/questions/939417/ubuntu-16-04-freezes-with-4-10-kernel

Kernel 4.8 works good.

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed => Fix Released

[Bug 1592459] Re: Nautilus crash clicking 2 time on launcher icon

2016-06-17 Thread dani_bs
When I installed Ubuntu 16.04 I used Unity Tweak Tool to change some behaviors
of Unity.
Today I try to restore all pre-defined values and reboot. Unity top-bar and
left-bar did not appear anymore. Then as suggested here:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/449845/problems-after-upgrading-to-14-04
-only-background-and-pointer-after-login/481620#481620

I try "Fix 5 - Clearing Unity"

dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
setsid unity

And now everything works again.
I suppose that the problem is the option "Minimize single window applications
on click". How that could be compatible with the normal behavior that if you
have 2 opened windows of the same program, clicking on left-bar show 2 little
windows that permit to select what you want to use?

[Bug 1592459] [NEW] Nautilus crash clicking 2 time on launcher icon

2016-06-14 Thread dani_bs
Public bug reported:

Step to reproduce problem:
- left-click on "File" icon to open a folder
- right-click on "File" icon to open a different folder

Now, if I left-click more than one time on "File" icon then Nautilus crash and
automatically restart.
But sometimes I need to close all application because I can't click on
application's icons.

Also, sometimes I must restart session because ricght-click on folder
show menu with alot of useless option, like "Eject" or "Unmount"

[Bug 995456] Re: Duplicate ACPI video bus devices for the same VGA controller

2014-01-03 Thread dani_bs
Thanks for you help, I update my BIOS to A29:
command: sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s
bios-release-date
output:
A29
06/04/2013

File dmesg contains the same text:
[Firmware Bug]: ACPI: BIOS _OSI(Linux) query ignored
...
[Firmware Bug]: Duplicate ACPI video bus devices for the same VGA controller,
please try module parameter video.allow_duplicates=1if the current driver
doesn't work.

I also boot again with version 13.04 I burn yesterday on USB and there is the
same result.
But I don't have problem: video works ok and webcam too. When I start using
Ubuntu, with 11.10 version, I supposed this message was important to be known
and resolved, but I never had problem.

So, maybe this is not a real bug and you can close it.
In that case, sorry I waste your time and thanks for your patience.

I attach dmesg of Ubuntu 13.04

[Bug 995456] Re: Duplicate ACPI video bus devices for the same VGA controller

2014-01-02 Thread dani_bs
- I downloaded Ubuntu 14.04 (Trusty Tahr) Daily Build - 64-bit PC (AMD64)
desktop image at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
- I installed it on USB drive
- I selected Try Ubuntu

It doesn't recognize my wifi card, I must connect cable to download the correct
driver, I will do that later so I can call apport.
Meantime, I attach dmesg file here.

In the path you suggest:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc7-precise/

there is only header file but not image file.

I read all the instruction, but my notebook is the one I use for my job:
is it secure that procedure? I must be sure to do not reinstall
everythink...

Thanks

[Bug 996715] [NEW] udevd take long time at boot time

2012-05-08 Thread dani_bs
Public bug reported:

(excuse me for my english)
After boot, I look at dmesg because I want to speed up boot of my notebook.
Now it take 20seconds (not bad) but there is a voice that take 14seconds! The
problem is udevd:

[3.012776] generic-usb 0003:413C:8158.0003: input,hidraw2: USB HID v1.11
Mouse [HID 413c:8158] on usb-:00:1a.0-1.2/input0
[ 17.798085] udevd[373]: starting version 173

You can see the file generated by ubuntu-bug at:
  [0.653196] udevd[87]: starting version 173

(I submit that file with another bug some days ago)

but the seconds in the file are not real: at boot time it take 14seconds
(also before submitting the bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/995456)

[Bug 158254] connection problem with kppp

2007-10-29 Thread dani_bs
Public bug reported:

I found this in 7.04 and 7.10 dist.
I use the command:
- sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

to find modem (56k) (is there a GUI way to configurate modem?). Then, I choose
it for my connection. My connection works.
I try with google: google's icon (the G) appears in browser's URL textbox, but
there a connection error. I try with alot of sites, but it is the same.
