Public bug reported: I installed a fresh Ubuntu 13.10 64 bits in a new Asus I7 A55A. Standard install . All run perfect. I connect a USB-Serial adapter model HL340, it has pl2303 chip but NEVER appear the /dev/ttysUSB0 device. In other machines I found inmediatelly a new /dev/ttyUSB0 and all work perfectly. I see in dmesg, signal that a device is connected usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_and address 3 But in the Asus i7 the device never appear. I run # lsusb Bus 008 Device 002: ID 0a5c:217f Broadcom Corp. Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 036: ID 2773:0104 .. Bus 002 Device 036: ID 2773:0104 and see others devices (v 1.1, v2 and v3) BUT I don't see the device.
