[Bug 138586] Re: Gnometris controls very unresponsive when keys are held down
Just noticed this: * debian/patches/80_change_tetris_theme.patch: - use the plain theme to workaround cairo speed issues (lp: #138586) Telling users to switch themes isn't much of a fix. [Bug 212587] [NEW] Hardy 8.04 - Vsync setting has no effect when enabled in CCSM
Public bug reported: Open the CCSM and go to General Options - Display Settings Enabling Sync to VBlank has absolutely no effect on my desktop and screen tearing still occurs. This is a major issue with PC with built-in Intel gfx or Ati gfx cards that utilize the built-in driver that ubuntu comes with. There is no options to enable vsync in the drivers themselves and the CCSM vblank option doesn't work. Nvidia restricted drivers provide the option inside of nvidia-settings so its not a problem for nvidia users. Having screen tear really detracts from the compiz experience and makes everything look unpolished as a whole. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hardy 8.04 - Vsync setting has no effect when enabled in CCSM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212587 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 138586] Re: Gnometris controls very unresponsive when keys are held down
I can also confirm this bug on my Dell Optiplex GX270 desktop running intel gfx. Seems like after I hold down the down arrow key is when the controls start going haywire. Massive lag and unresponsiveness. I can hear the fans speeding up in my system indicating the cpu is under heavy load. Same problem with/without Compiz. [Bug 209923] [NEW] [Hardy] Gnome System Monitor - Inaccurate
Public bug reported: When system monitor is opened in a small window, my cpu usage fluctuates approx 05~17% with no other apps open. If I maximize the system monitor, it shoots up to almost 50% and stays there. Reduce the monitor to a small window and usage drops again. I don't see any processes eating the cpu during this time, either. Can this be confirmed by anyone else? Athlon 2000+ DFI AK75EC Motherboard 512 meg SDRAM Ti4600 gfx Ubuntu Hardy fully updated as of about 8:00am 3-30-08 I was told this was due to the system monitor using vector drawing for the graphs and this is kicking the cpu usage up. If so, doesn't this kinda defeat the whole purpose of the system monitor then? If its not giving an accurate representation of the current state of the PC, then what good is it? Also, the text smearing that occurs when scrolling down the process list doesn't help things, either. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] Gnome System Monitor - Inaccurate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209923 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
