[Bug 138586] Re: Gnometris controls very unresponsive when keys are held down

2008-04-10 Thread denzilla74
This bug is not fixed even with the new updates. The bug still occurs
when using the Tango Flat and Tango Shaded block themes. Hardy fully
updated Gnometris v2.22.1.1

[Bug 138586] Re: Gnometris controls very unresponsive when keys are held down

2008-04-10 Thread denzilla74
Just noticed this:

  * debian/patches/80_change_tetris_theme.patch:
- use the plain theme to workaround cairo speed issues (lp: #138586)

Telling users to switch themes isn't much of a fix. It would be best to
just remove the Tango block themes and save the users/devs headaches.

[Bug 203527] Re: Clicking on clock applet hangs gnome-panel

2008-04-09 Thread denzilla74
I don't have evolution configured and the clock hangs the system
everytime I left-click it. Hardy fully updated. Right-clicked and added
another location and it started working again. A bit laggy on start, but
working.

I also have this problem on a Dell Optiplex GX270 minitower PC. e-d-s

also have not configured Evolution. Fully updated as of 4-8 10:20pm

[Bug 212587] [NEW] Hardy 8.04 - Vsync setting has no effect when enabled in CCSM

2008-04-05 Thread denzilla74
Public bug reported:

Open the CCSM and go to General Options - Display Settings

Enabling Sync to VBlank has absolutely no effect on my desktop and
screen tearing still occurs. This is a major issue with PC with built-in
Intel gfx or Ati gfx cards that utilize the built-in driver that ubuntu
comes with. There is no options to enable vsync in the drivers
themselves and the CCSM vblank option doesn't work. Nvidia restricted
drivers provide the option inside of nvidia-settings so its not a
problem for nvidia users. Having screen tear really detracts from the
compiz experience and makes everything look unpolished as a whole.

[Bug 138586] Re: Gnometris controls very unresponsive when keys are held down

2008-04-05 Thread denzilla74
I can also confirm this bug on my Dell Optiplex GX270 desktop running
intel gfx. Seems like after I hold down the down arrow key is when the
controls start going haywire. Massive lag and unresponsiveness. I can
hear the fans speeding up in my system indicating the cpu is under heavy
load. Same problem with/without Compiz. When Compiz is enabled, the
screen will fade black and white while the game is playing. Hardy
install fully updated as of 4-5-08 8:15pm

[Bug 209923] [NEW] [Hardy] Gnome System Monitor - Inaccurate

2008-03-31 Thread denzilla74
Public bug reported:

When system monitor is opened in a small window, my cpu usage fluctuates
approx 05~17% with no other apps open. If I maximize the system monitor,
it shoots up to almost 50% and stays there. Reduce the monitor to a
small window and usage drops again. I don't see any processes eating the
cpu during this time, either. Can this be confirmed by anyone else?

Athlon 2000+
DFI AK75EC Motherboard
512 meg SDRAM
Ti4600 gfx

Ubuntu Hardy fully updated as of about 8:00am 3-30-08

I was told this was due to the system monitor using vector drawing for
the graphs and this is kicking the cpu usage up. If so, doesn't this
kinda defeat the whole purpose of the system monitor then? If its not
giving an accurate representation of the current state of the PC, then
what good is it? Also, the text smearing that occurs when scrolling down
the process list doesn't help things, either.

[Bug 101943] Re: braid screensaver crashes system with compiz activated

2008-03-28 Thread denzilla74
I'm still getting hard-locks from this in Hardy as of today. Will there
be a fix?

Ti4600
512MB RAM
XP 2000+ CPU

Running nvidia-glx and Compiz. I've had to Kill the power to my PC 3
times since it completely hard locks the system. You have to turn off
Compiz in order to be able to go into the screensaver selection and
select another screensaver.

Can you post part of your xorg that has the line you want me to add to
it so I can see how its supposed to look? I inserted it as requested,
but it just made Ubuntu go into xorg failsafe mode which means I did it
wrong. I'm a noob so please forgive the stupidity. Using nvidia-glx btw.

Got the same problem:

Hardy Beta
GeForce 4 Ti4600

I have made no changes to any files, but I did setup another user
account and enabled the restricted drivers. Only way I can get the
Window decor back is to disable compiz.
