Re: [Bug 1513168] Re: rythymbox screen goes grey and freezes after connecting IPAD
Hi. I looked at the specific request you made to obtain a backtrace but the instructions are too complicated to figure out. Is there some sort of executable file or one click program to run? What I can tell you though is that after much a do I figured out that the problem is most likely caused by the lack of up to date support for apple IOS products. IOS 9 requires the current version of http://www.libimobiledevice.org/downloads/libimobiledevice-1.2.0.tar.bz2 in ubuntu from www.libimobiledevice.org Of course this is not the end of it as the above generates dependencies like usbmuxd and a few others that are also out of date. I think it said it needs version 1.0.9 but ubuntu only has 1.0.8 Is there a way to get someone to update this in the near future? I get a similar problem with Banshee when I connect the IPAD with IOS9.1 --- Nothing happens even though the software claims its trying to update the tablet... so this update would fix both issues I am sure. Hope I helped Edward On Mon, Nov 30, 2015 at 7:39 AM, Sebastien Bacherwrote: > Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make > Ubuntu better. [Bug 1426547] [NEW] wakes from suspend with ethernet networking disabled
Public bug reported: Power settings are set to SUSPEND when inactive for 5 minutes. The activity timer suspends the computer either a) while I am working on it but after it has been up for about 3 hours regardless of activity or b) alternatively it suspends the computer after 5 minutes of no activity and in both cases the when the computer wakes from suspend it does not have an ethernet connection and does not recover automatically. The ENABLE Networking button at the top of the screen is UNCHECKED. Replacing the check mark does not reenable the ethernet networking service but the check mark shows the networking as enabled incorrectly. At this point it is not possible to use the TERMINAL window to report the ubuntu-bug -w as the window reports at the send button that networking is not active. Thus I have reboot the computer to get networking working again and then immediately used the TERMINAL to place this bug report. [Bug 1423309] [NEW] screen display settings dont show correct resolution
Public bug reported: Only two choices appear in screen display window 800x600 and 1024 x 768 for my monitor. Window shows unknown monitor about 85% of the day when I check it. Am forced to use one or the other of these settings.. neither of which is right for my screen. One has giant letters and the other a verticall squashed screen. Once in a while (the other 15%) when I click on the system settings icon... something happens and the display resets itself to a higher resolution and better screen fill than the above two choices. then when I check the screen display window it shows I have a HANSOL 16 screen. In this case a 3rd resolution is offered 1280x1024 5:4 and is almost correct... call it useable. However this 3rd setting does not survive a reboot and the cycle repeats itself. The monitor is actually a 17 Hansol knock off.. MH-170a model E17BL if that helps any... Over ten years old. Is there someway to make the Ubuntu system offer the 1280x1024 option right after system boot. For some reason only the other two options I mentioned in the first sentence show up. I will attach a picture of what I get when the correct setting finally appears. [Bug 1422178] [NEW] audacity freezes/greys out on pushing STOP recording button
Public bug reported: To duplicate problem... attach Line in to back panel. Set Audacity to record from line in. turn on : show clipping and software playthrough. Start recording ... continue for several minutes... sometimes seconds can be enough. Push STOP button. Wait a few seconds and screen will turn GREY and all functions will get locked out except for the MENU at the top of the screen which will show all options but will not allow selection of any options or actions. Only solution is to force quit the application. After which on the subsequent restart Audacity advises the application was not closed properly and offers to save the temporary file it has recovered with the recording. Problem repeats on the next recording attempt. Audacity was installed from the Ubuntu Software Centre. [Bug 1422208] [NEW] Unable to Edit Metadata in Audacity while creating MP3 export
Public bug reported: Wanted to enter the name of the artist, song, album etc into the form for EDIT METADATA that pops up when you try to export a recording... in this case to MP3. The form is visible, the cursor will move around in the form but alpha or number keystrokes are not accepted in any boxes on the screen. Arrow keys work ok though. [Bug 1299119] Re: Ubuntu 13.10, and Firefox freeze when videoplayer status window is open and Java run box pops under
** Description changed: I was on the http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/typershark.jsp website usng the Firefox 24 supplied with Ubuntu 13.10 with my son watching the mandatory advertisement when I right clicked on the video window in the page to see which videoplayer was being used for the advertisement. The popup showed Flashplayer as the video player at about the same instant the advertisement was ending (Game will begin in 2 seconds) and the Java security box popped under the Flashplayer status box. - As we all know in OpenJDK7 r 52 the Java security box is asking that the + As we all know in OpenJDK7 r 51 the Java security box is asking that the user answer if they really want to run the Java app that is being presented. Unfortunately with the Java security box popping under the videoplayer status box the Java run/no run buttons are not accessible.. as they are behind the videoplayer status box. Attempting to move the videoplayer status box does not work. Neither does Alt-tab to try and cycle through open windows. In fact no button on the keyboard or combination of buttons does anything. The mouse continues to move around but left or right clicking on the mouse does nothing. After a period of time the Java script timeout message pops up and replaces the run/no run selector message. This message asks if you want to continue to wait or abort the script. Unfortunately this message too pops under the still open videoplayer status box and again the abort/continue buttons are obliterated by the videplayer status box on top. At this point the Ubuntu 13.10 pc is essentially locked up as no keys will do anything. I tried pushing the power button once briefly but it had no effect. So the only option left at this point is to hold the power button down until the pc shuts off which I did and then rebooted and returned to the screen where the problem was to generate this report as it was not possible to do that with the previously frozen screen. Can anyone fix this issue? I expected that I would be able to close the video player status window and then answer the Java security question. [Bug 921177] [NEW] Can't find info on how to uninstall Ubuntu 11.10 after installing to coexist with Windows from Ubuntu demo disk
Public bug reported: I downloaded the Ubuntu 11.10 and made a CD so I could run the demo. I then installed ubuntu to coexist with windows xp. Ran OK. However I have decided it would be better to revert back to my original configuration of Windows XP only and remove Ubuntu and everything the demo disk installed. I cannot find any information that explains how to remove this. Many thanks.
