~/.gconf/apps/panel/applets/ and set the %gconf.xml to read-only after

The resolution of a second monitor is not detected. This happens if you
plug in the second monitor after you logged in. The only way to detect
the right resolution is to log out and back in (X is restarted).

Here is the use case: Bob has a Laptop and an external Monitor. When he
comes home from work with his laptop, he connects the monitor to the
laptop. Because his laptop was in standby, xrandr does not know the
resolution off the external monitor so he has to restart X. As always
ubuntu should log

Same Issue fresh install of gusty 7.10 and all updates.. installed nvidia
driver and i can play back in vlc fine .. but in mythtv .. live tv and rec
programes i get the same issue that you all are taking about .. colors all over
the screen ...
is there a fix yet ?? thanks
