effects me too after installing on a 8GB CF->IDE card.
i have used the "guided-use all space option"
after boot grub reports: "out of disk."
and i have the resque promt.

bug or not,
i don not like clicking on the full screen button every time I adjust the
volume.
a workaround i dont have, though you could try to disable the notify
widget
