I have the same problem as the reporting guy but in my case it's an HP laptop with Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11bgn Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) wireless adapter. The problem is noticed when I donwnload big files from the internet, the connection is cut although it appears connected in the network panel. Executing sudo service network-manager restart connects again and I can resume my download but it's very annoing doing it every 5 minutes. There is no linux-image-extras package and you loose the wifi so it's not for daily use but it fixes the headphone issue. Could this line be added to the file by default in the package? I have the option to log in automatically set in KDM and I tried to log in to Unity just to find that I couldn't get the unity interface at all. I couldn't even log out and the only possibility was to kill kdm and start again but as it tries to resume the last session I get stuck and I can't use KDM. Hello, I've tested with the proposed update and although it works: - With rt2870sta driver I can connet and the dongle works as expected but only on Wifi G. I can't get a N connection. - With rt2800usb the dongle works at extremely low speeds. It takes a lot to load pages and speed tests give me about 1Mbit connection consistently. I don't know if it's a bug in the drivers or firmware, but the dongle it's not working at its full potential. I'm using the updated light themes from Maverick on Lucid but the problem persists. Even changing the tooltip background color there's another problem: The inactive selection is too light and also has white text in Eclipse (which is strange given that the text is black in Nautilus). It's annoying to open an autocomplete popup and get the selected option almost invisible. I know you are doing your job but I was very upset because adept never worked as expected and now kpackagekit isn't working either, so for two years there hasn't been a fully functional package manager in Kubuntu and that's one of the obvious examples of Kubuntu being second in support and lagging behind Ubuntu. Anyway, I appreciate your work and I understand that this is a complex problem involving all the design of Packagekit (and that Synaptic and Ubuntu in general don't suffer it because they don't use packagekit at all). Today I've found another blocked update because it needed to uninstall two packages. We are past RC so I don't think this will be solved in Karmic. Maybe it will be solved in Lucid, maybe not, who knows. Today I've found an update for amarok which requires the removal of libtag-extras0 and the installation of libtag-extras1. Knowing how Ubuntu works this bug will not be corrected in Jaunty for the stupid hard freeze in code, even for bugs. As Kubuntu is a second class distro, let's hope that it will be corrected in Karmic. I don't think so. We are now so close to release and new features aren't implemented once a distribution has been released. According to NVNews forums, the 180.37 drivers seems to fix the problems with signals. If you don't want to update the repositories with the new drivers without testing (although I doubt they will be worse than the 180.35 drivers), please, post here the updated packages and we will test it. I don't think that reverting back to Adept2 is the solution but just that this bug must have been corrected even in feature-freeze status (since is not a feature, it's a bug) just because this bug makes the whole application work in a strange way that most users would find strange. For me, it would have been better to completely remove the search functionality until it was ready than to release the application with a semi-working search feature because either way, searching in Adept3 is mostly useless. For example, it fails to open jar files while file-roller opens them. Yes. If I enable it the result is the same. I've observed that when I add a video file, I can rename it clicking on the name and the preview doesn't show on the first time. But once it has been edited, further tries to edit the name show this behavior. Also, I tried cutting and pasting part of the name (in a file names A-B.avi, cut A and try to paste it after B).
