video-intel package? I had no issues with 15.04 but few days back I
updated it and started to see missing letter bug again. Try downgrading
back to the older package.

rather than installing 15.04. But once I updated and rebooted my wifi
stopped working (the driver was not detected). Afterwards I did a fresh
install of 15.04 and it has been over a week and I have no font issues..

gen. So far I have not got the missing letter issue. And in 15.05 the

Furthermore, I think its not 15.04 that fixes the issue.. Its the kernel
3.19. If you read the description about whats new in 3.19 they
specifically talk about intel broadwell graphics support

The installation hanged since I selected the something else option.
Restarted since the installation made no progress for many hours. Now I
don't have a grub :(

as a work around, I used gparted, formatted the partition I want to use
for /. afterwards in the installation program I selected the
something else option. marked the formatted partition to refer to /
but un-ticked the format option. the installation proceeded without a
problem after that :)
