Re: [Bug 301601] Re: Checking Battery State [OK] X Crashing
My solution was to use Ubuntu with the Blubuntu theme on that laptop. IMHO not as good as Kubuntu but living with this bug was not an option... [Bug 301601] [NEW] Checking Battery State [OK] X Crashing
Public bug reported: I've just done a fresh install of Kubuntu Intrepid on my Acer Travelmate 530. The problem I have now is the screen randomly goes black and a single line of text saying Checking Battery State [OK] appears at the top for a few seconds, then X restarts and I am left at the login screen. The crashing occurs whether I'm on mains power or battery. I've done a full update upgrade dist-upgrade, but that didn't help. I've also turn on proposed updates, and re-upgraded, also to no effect. I know that its not a hardware issue, as before Intrepid I was a happy Gutsy and Hardy user on this same laptop, (and Dual boot XP works fine as well). At least one other person has the same bug. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6235844#post6235844 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Checking Battery State [OK] X Crashing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301601 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 259278] Re: knetworkmanager will no longer connect
I had this bug, and I've resolved it (at least for me). I'm using Kubuntu Intrepid with Proposed updates on a Acer Travelmate 520 with a Linksys Broadcom bcm43 PCMCIA wireless card. This setup worked fine under Hardy, but I suffered from this bug after upgrade to Intrepid. A comment above suggested I use nm-applet as a workaround replacement for knetworkmanager. In order to avoid I conflict, I thought it best to apt-get remove knetworkmanager prior to installing nm-applet. But apt-get reported that knetworkmanger was _NOT_ installed (!?). So I ran 'apt-get install knetworkmanager' which apt-get reported as installing normally, rebooted, and now it's connecting working fine... -- knetworkmanager will no longer connect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259278 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to knetworkmanager in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
