I noticed the same problems and a few more. For example closing the lid hangs the system. Disconnecting the power supply hangs the system. All clearly kernel related. I tried the iommu=soft solution which didn't work for me. Also adding amd_iommu=pt didn't help. The best fix I found so far was

I'm glad to hear the bug has been fixed. But if I look at this up to date mirror http://ubuntu.inode.at/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/installer-amd64/current/ I still see no newer release of the install image. Can somebody please regenerate the installer so we can test the fix? Thanks -- You
