[Bug 1045441] [NEW] Inverted question mark gone in US International Keyboard

2012-09-03 Thread ignasi
Public bug reported:

Hi there. I' ve been using the International US Keyboard map in my
laptop for years. There has been a change in its layout recently in
which the inverted question mark ( ¿ ) seems to be gone. It used to work
when pressing AltGr+Shift+/ (same as in Windows). Is this change
permanent or just a bug?

Thanks in advance

Ignacio

[Bug 786857] Re: Grub 2 on laptop doesn't recognize an external keyboard

2011-07-26 Thread Ignasi
I forgot to mention that the external keyboard was a wireless one. Today
i've tested with a wired USB keyboard and it worked as usual. So the bug
is still opened but only for a wireless keyboard.

[Bug 786857] [NEW] Grub 2 on laptop doesn't recognize an external keyboard

2011-05-23 Thread Ignasi
Public bug reported:

I've a Toshiba Tecra A8 with a docking station. I plug the laptop to docking
station and use external monitor, keyboard and mouse without opening the
laptop. I've ubuntu and windows installed on it a select which starts with
GRUB. I've been using both without any problem with several ubuntu versions.
After last update to ubuntu 11.04 grub doesn't recognize my external keyboard
until the system starts so I cannot select the operating system. I can open the
laptop and use laptop's keyboard but it's not so comfortable. I've reverted to
ubuntu 10.04 (LTS) because it was working but now the problem persists. Until
installing 11.04 I didn't realized about new grub version (no menu.lst). Ubuntu
10.10 was still using menu.lst. Now 10.04 is configured through
/etc/default/grub.
Could you help me?

Thank you,

Ignasi

[Bug 640100] Re: Maverick fails to wake up on Samsung N150

2010-10-21 Thread ignasi
This is clearly a regression. I've been using both Lucid's kernel
modified by voria.org as well as the official from the Ubuntu repo since
Maverick rc without a problem. As of today, the 2.6.35 still has this
problem.

[Bug 569891] Re: X sluggish after 'xset s activate' (dpms on)

2010-04-30 Thread ignasi
David, I'm sorry but I can't do that anymore... It was a karmic
installation upgraded to lucid, and that was not the only problem I was
experimenting. So I had no other choice but to do a clean installation.
I have not been able to reproduce this problem anymore.

Thanks

[Bug 569891] [NEW] X sluggish after 'xset s activate' (dpms on)

2010-04-25 Thread ignasi
Public bug reported:

Hi there. I'm using Lucid 64-bits on a Lenovo SL500 with an intel vga.

ign...@caladan:~$ lspci | grep Graphics
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)

For the past days I have noticed that X becomes really unresponsive
after dpms is activated, either by not using the computer or by invoking
'sleep 1; xset s activate'. To have the system run smoothly again I just
have to press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to go to a text session, and Ctrl-F7 to go
back to X, and everything is normal again (until dpms is activated
again)

I'm currently using the x-swat ppa for testing the infamous memory leak.

[Bug 408583] Re: thunderbird-gnome-support contains only docs?

2010-04-21 Thread ignasi
This has been an issue forever. I hoped that with the release of
thunderbird 3 gvfs support would be available. Yesterday I was checking
Claws Mail and it supports gvfs!!! So, the best looking, best imap-
supporting, and best featured email application for Linux just sucks
because it does not integrate well with the desktop environment. No
wonder how Evolution is the default email client in Ubuntu.

[Bug 446093] [NEW] nm-applet loaded, but icon not visible (karmic)

2009-10-08 Thread ignasi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

I'm testing karmic amd64 with latest updates. For the past weeks I've
noticed that when I first log in after turning on the computer nm-applet
icon will not appear at all in the notification area applet, and most of
the times a repeated icon with no function at all (sometimes it will be
a blank space) will appear instead (see attached image for details).
However, as you can see in the image, network is active and running.
When I say repeated icon with no function at all I mean that, as in
the attached image, a repeated icon for the battery (sometimes it will
be the bluetooth icon) appears. However, if I click on the repeated
icons, one will normally present its pop-up menu, the other will do
nothing. So this is not nm-applet working with the wrong icon since I
cannot see the nm-applet menu.

If I kill and restart nm-applet the repeated, dumb icon will dissapear
and the nm-applet icon will show and work fine.

[Bug 434737] [NEW] Many problems with 3G in Karmic

Public bug reported:

I've been connecting through 3G services since Jaunty without noticeable
problems. However, I've been testing karmic for the past month and
things have not been so good. If I use wvdial or gnome-ppp I have no
troubles at all.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad SL-500 with an Ericsson F3507G 3G modem inside.
I've done a full repport with comments and logs with the hopes that
anybody can see what's going on...

Hardware:

2008-11-24 Thread ignasi
Same problem here with ubuntu 8.10 both 32 and 64 bits. sound is intel
alc888 on an msi 1223 laptop (pr201). I can hear myself talking to the
microphone, but no program will record it. Tested with ekiga, gnome
sound recorder and skype.

[Bug 222532] Re: Option to connect to secure webdav network locations missing in nautilus

2008-09-04 Thread ignasi
This is what I do to access my webdav account (both dav and davs) under
hardy:

when I enter the parameteres in gnome Connect to Server don't enter
your username. I will ask for it later along with the password. However,
in mixed (both anonymous and user-based) dav folders (i.e. Gallery2)
this trick won't work, since it will, by default, mount the dav folder
anonymously.

[Bug 131526] Re: [gutsy] OpenOffice crashes/hangs with some Gtk themes (e.g. Crux)

2007-11-21 Thread Ignasi Prat
Experienced exactly the same problem with OpenOffice and Crux theme. In
my case the problem focuses in Impress (which halts during start splash
screen) but I have not tested thoroughly Writer, Calc or Draw.

Simply changing theme to Human makes all work again, but tell this to my
Wife !!!

Any possibilities the i386 patch goes to the repositories ?
