mesa 7.6.0~git20090817.7c422387-0ubuntu3 with intel G965 hangs
Arnaud,
You are right - it's my fault. The thing is I *have* configured
'standalone' mode at first, but, probably, during digging in the issue I
have removed (purge?) the package, reinstalled it later and forgot to
edit this config file again. Have terminated all ups-related processes,
restarted
For me the problem isn't resolve (cups 1.4.03 is installed now) - now
even after chgrp/chmod new printer can not be found:
$ sudo lsusb | grep Kyo
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0482:0015 Kyocera Corp.
$ sudo ls -l /dev/bus/usb/005/002
crw-rw-r-- 1 root lp 189, 513 2009-09-01 22:11 /dev/bus/usb/005/002

Binary package hint: nut
Up to date Kubuntu Karmic is in use.
Recently I have tried to install nut and faced with these problems:
1. hal starts 'hald-addon-hid-ups' process which is not compatible with
nut. To prevent the starting I have added the file:
$ cat

After upgrading to cups 1.4.0 short-edges duplexing is not respected any
more. Before upgrading this command worked fine:
/usr/bin/lp -d FS-1030D -o media=A4 -o sides=two-sided-short-edge
some.ps
Now duplexing
Eric,
Thanks! I still can not register on cups.org.
(P.S. Unfortunately it isn't last cups 1.4 show stopper - have filed new
one 421459)

Public bug reported:
Up to date Kubuntu Karmic is in use.
After upgrading to mesa 7.6.0~git20090817.7c422387-0ubuntu3 (and having
Intel X3000 viseo card) few 3D games (at my case these are torcs and
hedgewars) hangs a system - I'm forced to use SysRq kernel hacking.
** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu)
As far as current Kubuntu packages don't expose the issue (as noted in
#5), and, moreover, there are no new reports during all these days, I
thing the issue can be marked as fixed.

Eric,
I have noticed after those owner/rights manipulations and detecting a
printer last one stays in suspended state. Try to resume it in CUPS web
admin frontend.
