Per the developer, all versions older than 1.4.4 have been obsoleted.
The changelog between 1.4.0 (trusty) and 1.4.2 (xenial) are quite large.
It looks like Artful Aardvark may have a solution if it can be
backported to trusty and xenial.

Doing a straight upgrade from a fresh install of 7.04 to 7.10 fails on PowerPC.
Using the Update manager to do the dist upgrade, the following happens:
The Upgrade appears to run as expected. Upon reboot, after about 1 minute, the
graphic boot screen drops to a busybox
