[Bug 1733557] Re: Login screen showing Authentication Failure Switch to greeter...

2018-03-14 Thread john rogers
I had this on my 16.04 system and it was INFURIATING - was taking 30s or so to
login after a lock screen.
I *think* I've found a workaround...
Changing the driver to neuveu reboot ( deal with the failure to detect
resolution if needed )
change back to nvidia driver reboot
back to normal :) ( for the last 3 locks at least... fingers crossed!

Re: [Bug 701490] Re: Problem opening Evolution Mail

2011-01-21 Thread John Rogers
Mathieu,

Thank you for your response which I very much appreciate. I have followed your
instructions and am now able to access Evolution. If this problem should occur
again, will it be necessary to move the directory again (e.g. to old2)?
My apologies for not responding to you earlier. It has been very hectic here
for
a while with no time to use my PC!

Very best regards.

John.

Subject: [Bug 701490] Re: Problem opening Evolution Mail

John,

From the error messages you received:
(evolution:2011): camel-WARNING **: something went wrong terribly during db
creation

(evolution:2011): evolution-mail-WARNING **: Could not initialize local
store/folder: database disk image is malformed

The database file for evolution has somehow become corrupt. I'll look
for a better way, but as a first attempt to fix the issue, could you
move the .evolution directory to another name and try opening evolution
again? However, this will likely require evolution to re-download all
your mail and may lose some of your settings. To move the directory, you
can issue a command like mv .evolution .evolution.old in a Terminal.
