I've had this same bug since lucid and keep having it today in xubuntu
18.04. It takes around one hour to transfer 5gb of data.

Bug is still present in 14.04.02 It would be very usefull for it to be
fixed, since qjackctl features such as reset depend on right click

[Bug 768597] [NEW] Cannot burn dvds using any gnome application

2011-04-21 Thread joseielpi
Public bug reported:

Hello there. I can't seem to burn data dvds. I tried Brasero,
Gnomebajer, Cd-DVD creator, K3b. All output an error message and eject
the cd. Frankly, i do not know witch package is affected, because it
happens with any application designed to do that. I'm using Lucid Lynx
10.04 desktop. Attached is a Brasero log of one of my many unsuccessful
attempts. Thanks in advance on any help.

[Bug 586090] Re: [i945g] X fails to start

2010-07-12 Thread joseielpi

Many thanks for the tip. I've finally managed to install the mainline kernel.
However, it does not solve the problem, or, to be specific, regenerates an old
one: I can login now, but X stops abruptly without warning, showing a black
screen with the following message: the screen, graphics card, and input device
settings could not be detected correctly. I can only log back in safe graphics
mode, and all session data is lost. I had previously filed that same behavior
here in launchpad under bug #579653, before I experienced bug #586090 (this one
we're working on).
Since a proposed solution for bug #579653 was also to install the mainline
kernel, I'll file the results there too. Thanks again.

[Bug 579653] Re: 10.04 - Xorg Crash: Video device settings could not be detected correctly

2010-07-12 Thread joseielpi

Due to hardware problem, I had to quit using the Samsung Syncmaster monitor.
I've changed it to an IBM E74 model. Since then the problem mentioned got
worst, since I could not even login to X, (I filed Bug #586090). People
helping out there suggested, just like in this bug, to install current mainline
kernel. After a lot mistakes trying to do so, I finally did. From then on, the
problem has reverted to this, the original one: I can log in again, but X
crashes just like before. Upon entering safe graphics mode, I now get this new
error message: Error: (EE) open/dev/fbo: no such file or directory.
If someone could tell me how to use the mainline kernel to facilitate further
information, I'd be glad to. Thanks.

[Bug 586090] Re: [i945g] X fails to start

I've followed the link and tried several times to install a correct mainline

constantly receiving a wrong architecture message, both on the i386 version

Boot with nomodeset makes X function. But I cannot initially see the mouse

[Bug 579653] Re: 10.04 - Xorg Crash: Video device settings could not be detected correctly

2010-05-13 Thread joseielpi
Checked and yes, you're wright: ASRock motherboard, AMI BIOS and Samsung
Syncmaster 732N. Also the CPU and graphics are the ones you mentioned.
The issue happens after logging in, specially if nothing is done for a few
minutes.
I'm trying to install the drm-intel-next kernel, but I keep getting a wrong
architecture message, both with i386 and amd64 versions. I'll keep trying.
Thanks!
