[Bug 554158] [NEW] log off instead of shutdown or restart
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sysvinit Description:Ubuntu lucid (development branch) Release:10.04 When requesting shutting down or restarting the system from the graphics interface, the command executed by the system is log off instead. Normally, I expect to power off the system when giving the shutdown command and to reboot the system when giving the restart command. But I see only the login window, no shutdown, no restart. ** Affects: sysvinit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- log off instead of shutdown or restart https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554158 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 287963] Re: Internet radio do not play after audio files, and viceversa
The fact that the problem is solved in Intreprid Ibex does not mean that is solved also in Hardy Heron, and the latter being with LTS, I think someone with better knowledge about Ubuntu whereabouts than me should take a look, at least. -- Internet radio do not play after audio files, and viceversa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287963 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 302332] [NEW] NVIDIA proprietary driver 177 does not work
Public bug reported: On my system, the NVIDIA proprietary driver 177 does not work in 3D mode, does not work compiz, emerald, etc. with it. For other with the same problem: in Application->Add/Remove..., uninstall it, and install instead the driver 173. While I understand this bug is not directly related to ubuntu, being related to a proprietary closed-source driver, I will report it as I found a solution, and maybe will be useful to somebody. This is Ubuntu 8.10. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Assignee: ltheodorv (ltheodorv) Status: Fix Released ** Affects: kiwilinux Importance: Undecided Assignee: ltheodorv (ltheodorv) Status: Fix Released ** Changed in: ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) => ltheodorv (ltheodorv) Status: New => Fix Released ** Also affects: kiwilinux Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: kiwilinux Assignee: (unassigned) => ltheodorv (ltheodorv) Status: New => Fix Released -- NVIDIA proprietary driver 177 does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 210140] Re: Error in activating xkb configuration
Strangely, I have not seen this error after removing the romanian keyboard and reinstalling it (left only with the default USA keyboard), as it wasn't possible to switch between keyboards. [Bug 210140] Re: Error in activating xkb configuration
This happened to me after upgrtading ti Intreprid Ibex. A dialog box with no title, but with title bar, and a big stop sign displayed on the left. The text on it says: Error activating XKB configuration. It can happen under various circumstances: - a bug in libxklavier library - a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities) - X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation X server version data: The X.Org Foundation 10502000 If you report this situation as a bug, please include: - The result of xprop -root | grep XKB - The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd The first command gives: _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105", "us", "", "" while the second gives: layouts = [us,ro std_comma] model = options = [grp grp:alts_toggle,grp grp:alt_shift_toggle] To mention this error did not occured while using Hardy Heron. -- Error in activating xkb configuration https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 287963] [NEW] Internet radio do not play after audio files, and viceversa
Public bug reported: I am running ubuntu 8.04.1 and my problem is: I can not play audio files after opening an internet radio, and I can not open any internet radio after playing an audio file. I can play along audio files and youtube files, though, but not youtube and internet radios (the same problems as with audio files). My browser of preference is Mozilla Firefox, and the programs in which I have seen the problem are: Audacious, Amarok, Banshee, Movie player, MPlayer, Muine Music Player, Rhythmbox. My workaround was: listed the pocesses running ("ps -e" command), than killed the processes with the mplayer listed in the CMD column (there were two or three occurences), with the command: "sudo kill []" (of course, I replaced with the real process identifiers listed). I will say that is a problem in one of the programs involving audio playback, as it seems that the processes are not freed up after playing an audio file or stream. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Internet radio do not play after audio files, and viceversa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287963 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
