[Bug 274953] Re: Pygame causes Mnemosyne to crash

2009-02-16 Thread mgajda
The same problem at my system, when using NumPy. Maybe there is some
interference that causes NumPy to malfunction? (Should this bug be
reattributed to NumPy?)

[Bug 274953] Re: Pygame causes Mnemosyne to crash

2009-02-16 Thread mgajda
Simpler way to reproduce:
python -OO -c 'import numpy'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File string, line 1, in module
  File /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/numpy/__init__.py, line 107, in

module
outer.__doc__ += doc_note(Masked values are replaced by 0.)
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +=: 'NoneType' and 'str'

So when optimization is enabled, something breaks in NumPy's documentation.
Anybody knows where it comes from?

Same problem.

I had a good config, that was changed by bulletproof X after ACPI resume
crash.

1. I change default screen and screen resolution to 1280x1024.
2. I test it alright, and I press Keep configuration button.
3. It orders me to restart X11, so I logout, and restart GDM.
4. It keeps inferior 800x600 resolution.

[Bug 106638] xrandr crashes XServer, if used from different VT

2007-04-14 Thread mgajda
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810

Current X server doesn't check if the resolution is available on internal
monitor after I disconnect external monitor,
so I sometimes have to switch resolution from VT console. Unfortunately, it
causes the crash each time.
Equipment is X41 with i915 Intel graphics card.

1. Start X server.
2. Switch to VT.
3. Configure display to command from VT:
$ export DISPLAY=:0.; export XAUTHORITY=~/.Xauthority
4. Try to switch video mode with xrandr:
$ xrandr -s 1
[If resolution hasn't been used before.]
5. See that X server crashed.

[Bug 105304] Unbootable after upgrade to Feisty with pre-2.6.17 kernel

2007-04-10 Thread mgajda
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: initrd-tools

I use a custom kernel 2.6.16.20 with root on ReiserFS.

After dist-upgrade to Feisty, kernel couldn't mount root fs after mounting.
Probably because both initrd images became 0 bytes long:
$ ls -al /boot
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2007-04-05 00:02 initrd.img-2.6.16.20
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2007-04-05 00:02 initrd.img-2.6.16.20.dpkg-bak

I needed to downgrade initrd-tools, udev etc., regenerate initrd, and copy it
to a different filename.
It seems that another upgrade didn't overwrite the image, so it is not clear
why it was deleted in the first place?

[There was enough disk space.]

[Bug 105308] Increasing screen resolution on i915 may show mixed results

2007-04-10 Thread mgajda
Public bug reported:

I started GDM with 1024x786 LCD panel, and later connected to 1280x1024
external monitor.
Increasing resolution with xrandr is allowed, and shows interesting results:
1. Resolution of image on the monitor increases.
2. Resolution of desktop stays the same (e.g. smaller than monitor).
3. Desktop image is displayed in tiles on the monitor (some parts are
duplicated, some parts seem to overlay).

My equipment is Intel 915 graphics card.
The xrandr resizing didn't work in Edgy.

Author couldn't reproduce the error again, and we are not sure that the
bug is indeed in the Xserver, not in Firefox or Thunderbird.

[Bug 78772] Re: memory leak in xorg i810 of 6.06?

2007-01-11 Thread mgajda
I have a similar problem after with i810 memory leak in different
config. It happened after ~5 days of using just gnome-terminal, firefox,
thunderbird, korganizer, few gnome-applets, rhythmbox and openoffice.

X server memory usage jumped from 18MB (just after session start) to 378MB and
closing all used applications didn't help.
[As measured as 'process resident size' by GNU top.]
Logging out and starting a different gnome session didn't help too.
I had to restart the whole X server.

You wrote that xrestop gives about 100-250M less memory as total than
what top indicates. It should, because xrestop reports only X
resources.

Anyway, closing Firefox and Thunderbird didn't help in my case,
so I may have confirmed the wrong bug? :-)

[Bug 62988] Is it a single bug?

2006-10-30 Thread mgajda
It is interesting that some people have the same problem with GMail
(that doesn't seem to use any flash) and XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 helps.

Could you confirm that the bug occurs without Flash player in GMail?

2006-10-30 Thread mgajda
Seems to be similar to or duplicate of #62988.

Does it help if you
* add export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 to /usr/lib/firefox/firefox or
* switch Composite off in xorg.conf or
* switch screen depth from 16 bits to 24 bits?

[Bug 63570] Re: Firefox 2.0b2 crashes when using composite and 16 bit visuals

2006-10-29 Thread mgajda
It seems that the bug occurs if you have both composite and 16 bit
depth enabled in the xorg.conf.

To fix this bug, you can hide composite visuals from Firefox by setting
the environment variable read by xlib:

export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 ; firefox

At least the fix works for me.

[Bug 68337] Server crash on ACPI suspend/resume

2006-10-26 Thread mgajda
Public bug reported:

Xserver crashes when I suspend and resume an X41 laptop.
The symptom look similar to #61746, but I gett different xorg.log. I checked
that all is okay, when I switch off echo -n mem /sys/power/state from acpi
sleep.sh script, so it is not acpi-support problem.
It could have been kernel problem, but I get no trace of the problem in dmesg.

Here is a fragment of a xorg.log file:

[Bug 68337] Re: Server crash on ACPI suspend/resume

The xorg.conf was automatically generated by package upgrade script, except for
the description of monitors.
The Monitor sections were generated from cat
/proc/acpi/video/VID/{LCD0|CRT0}/EDID|parse-edid.
