[Bug 137690] [gutsy] Xorg hangs randomly when compiz enabled intel/i810
Public bug reported: This problem happens very randomly but yesterday I found a way to reproduce it, by the way, this is not the only way to reproduce it, it happens very randomly when Compiz is active since I upgraded to Gutsy. If you run avant-window-navigator and dragdrop an icon on its bar, when you leave the mouse button the X hangs completely. You can only move the mouse. The ssh access works fine so I notice that if I try to restart gdm the screen show always the last screenshot with the hang. The only way is reboot. Another problem is I cannot switch in console mode, if I push the ctrl-alt-F1 sequence I get a black screen and I cannot switch to gdm again (ctr-alt-F7) I need to reboot the machine and this happens always with and without Compiz active.
