[Bug 138094] Re: [Gutsy] desktop and keyboard freezes while mouse is moveable

2007-10-08 Thread michelem
Same problem here with same driver (i810, Dell D610) using Compiz after
upgrading to Gutsy months ago.
I noticed I cannot use ctrl-alt-f1 too because I get a black screen without any
way to come back into Gnome session. Only reboot is needed (neither restarting
gdm from an ssh connection works).
Did someone try with a fresh install of Gutsy?

[Bug 115283] Re: random system freeze when desktop-effects activated

2007-09-23 Thread michelem
I have same identical problem with my Dell laptop (intel 810 based
card). When I upgraded Feisty to Gutsy I get in trouble with this
problem (about one month ago) and I still have it.

I found only one method to always reproduce it otherwise it is very random (and
of course only with compiz enabled (I use metacity not emerald)):
- open AWN (avant-window-navigator)
- then try to dragdrop an icon in the awn bar
- freeze

Same identical issues when it crashes, all the screen is freeze but mouse still
works, no way to close X server or to switch in console.
Please ask me if you need other infos

This probably reflects a bug in the program.

[Bug 137690] [gutsy] Xorg hangs randomly when compiz enabled intel/i810

2007-09-06 Thread michelem
Public bug reported:

This problem happens very randomly but yesterday I found a way to reproduce it,
by the way, this is not the only way to reproduce it, it happens very randomly
when Compiz is active since I upgraded to Gutsy.
If you run avant-window-navigator and dragdrop an icon on its bar, when you
leave the mouse button the X hangs completely. You can only move the mouse. The
ssh access works fine so I notice that if I try to restart gdm the screen show
always the last screenshot with the hang. The only way is reboot.
Another problem is I cannot switch in console mode, if I push the ctrl-alt-F1
sequence I get a black screen and I cannot switch to gdm again (ctr-alt-F7) I
need to reboot the machine and this happens always with and without Compiz
active.
Please ask for infos if you need it.

Desktop the window remains without any decoration and nothing works like
cube, alt-tab windows switch and so on but compiz.real seems to not
crash now (before it crashed)

[Bug 80946] Re: desktop-effects human variant would be nice

2007-02-21 Thread michelem
Sorry, but I think the Troy's icon have serious antialiasing problems, most of
all around the stars it is very bad, the stars seem to be pasted upon, the
monitor isnt like the others icon (for example screensaver icon or background
icon) and there are others problem as the top left corner and some stars float
upon the monitor...mmm I think there are a lot of work to get that icon
working, dont you?
Sorry I think Troy had make a good job but I continue to prefer the Lapo's
version.

[Bug 84899] SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on non-kerberos SSH servers are very slow

2007-02-13 Thread michelem
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openssh-client

In Feisty Fawn I noticed a very slow ssh connection to some local servers, the
prompt login takes 5/6 seconds to appear.
I solved this problem putting the option GSSAPIAuthentication no instead
yes in the /etc/ssh/ssh_config file.

SSH Version is 4.3p2-7ubuntu1

[Bug 79209] beagle-search runs in debug mode and fulls the disk with log files

2007-01-14 Thread michelem
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: beagle

In Feisty Fawn I noticed that there is these processes associated to
beagle:

ps ax|grep [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.beagle$ ps ax|grep beagle
 5849 ?Sl 0:04 beagled /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe --bg
 7573 ?Sl 0:08 beagled /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe --bg
 7579 ?Sl 0:01 beagle-search --debug /usr/lib/beagle/Search.exe
--icon
 8092 ?SNl0:12 beagled-helper /usr/lib/beagle/IndexHelper.exe
16242 pts/1R+ 0:00 grep beagle

in particular beagle-search runs in debug mode and fulls the disk with log
files (today i deleted up to 10GB of logs!)
Feel free to ask me more infos.

** Affects: beagle (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed
