The lock file did exist.
I ran
cp /etc/gshadow ~/
rm /etc/gshadow*
apt-get install -f
This fixed the problem

This is still a problem. When I connect to a 2003 exchange server the
URL is:
https://webmail.state.nm.us/cookieauth.dll?GetLogon?url=%2Fexchange%
2Freason=0/
Note the cookieauth.dll. Evolution expects CookieAuth.dll and since
windows is case insensitive, it would be nice if the exchange plugin

firewall, however, evolution is waiting for a URL containing CookieAuth.dll. My
corp OWA shoots out cookieauth.dll.
