Thanks for taking the time to file the additional information. As an
added measure, could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-

[Bug 545843] Re: distribution upgrade fails

2010-05-20 Thread mistrynitesh
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 546211] Re: indicator-me did not install on karmic to lucid upgrade

2010-05-20 Thread mistrynitesh
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 546211

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more

2010-05-12 Thread mistrynitesh
@ jatin You need not send another bug report if it is the same problem
as mentioned above. You just need to change the status of this bug from
'new' to 'confirmed'. Filing new bug will only be duplication. However,
if you have already filed the bug, could you please mention the bug
number, so it can be verified in marked duplicate if necessary. And,
thanks for helping make Ubuntu better.

[Bug 570042] Re: can't adjust the brightness of my laptop display

2010-04-29 Thread mistrynitesh
Thank you for taking time out to report the problem. Just to clarify a
bit, your problem is that when you press the button for reducing the
brightness, the notification bubble appears and shows the brightness as
reduced, but actually there is no change in brightness. Someone has
reported a similar problem at bug #570734. Would you like to check the
other bug and confirm this. Also, it will be very helpful to solve the
problem if you run 'apport-collect 570042' from the terminal. You might
also want to take a look at the debugging instructions located at

logs related to your problem. Thanks in advance.

 E: _cache-open() failed, please report.

Unfortunately I don't know how to do the above. If you could give me

You can do the above in the terminal by following these steps:
Click Applications == Accessories == Terminal
In the window that opens shall contain a command prompt.
Type sudo dpkg --configure -a in there and press enter
It shall ask for a password.
Type the password that you provided while installing Ubuntu, and press
enter.
This should clear the mess created while installing the plug-in and pave way
for fresh reinstall of the plug-in.

By the way, you did not mention about the event that gave you the error:
GStreamer encountered a general supporting library error.

Updated to the final release of Firefox 3 from Synaptic. Still the
problem persists. Also the Network manager shows No network connection
even when I am typing this online. It used to be so even at the time of

Hope anyone does something about this, without arguing whether it is a
Firefox problem or NM.

[Bug 69664] Re: document in which calc mistreats a date

2007-09-14 Thread mistrynitesh
I have the same problem i.e., whenever I type a date in a cell, it changes to a
date which is one day prior. I checked the forums at OpenOffice.org site and
there are a couple of other ubuntu users who have posted similar problems which
the other users of the site quote as a ubuntu-specific problem. I don't
understand the term Fix Commited. Does this mean that the bug is fixed? If so
how do I update the same. Adept Manager does not show any upgrade to the
current version even after fetching updates.
I use 'openoffice.org2.2.0-1ubuntu4' on Kubuntu 7.04 with KDE 3.5.6, QT 3.3.7
and kernel 2.6.20.16 (is this information too much?)
