[Bug 2067719] [NEW] Change virtual desktop when a window in focus does a giggle the ripple effect does not support choose accent color

2024-05-31 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

I noticed in Ubuntu 24.04 that when changing virtual desktop the GNOME
windows ripple for active window does not respect the chosen accent
color. While in Ubuntu 23.10 it did (see https://imgur.com/a/8Whts5C).

[Bug 1971987] Re: On release upgrade, Snaps don't change channel

2022-05-07 Thread motang
I can confirm on my system that I never changed the channel. It was
always on stable branch and did a dist-upgrade, at which that channel
was kept at 21.10 and did not get changed over to 22.04. I had to do
this manually which was yesterday.

[Bug 1945063] [NEW] Ubuntu Dock Bug with window minimize when having Dock at the bottom

2021-09-25 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu 21.10 (I know it is still not released, but wanted to test it).
I noticed that there a bug where when you have the Dock at the bottom and you
launch an app, which minimizing it it won’t minimize to the bottom as it still
thinks the Dock is off to the left. Once you change work spaces then only does
the app realize that the dock is at the bottom of the screen. Please see
attached video.

[Bug 1902969] Re: Thunder freezes UI when changing from title bars to CSD

2020-11-05 Thread motang
Hello,

These are the steps to reproduce it for both .deb and snap versions.
Once Thunderbird is open, right click around the tab bar and choose customize.
Once in that window, choose either to show title bar or hide (depending on what
you have already done prior). Close the customize window, but you will notice
there are two dots beside Thunderbird icon on Ubuntu dock indicating it has two
windows open. If you click on Thunderbird the UI locks. If you by chance do not
click on the icon on Ubuntu dock you can clear off the extra dot by restarted
GNOME UI by typing 'r' in run dialog for x.org. Not sure if this is
reproduceable under Wayland.

[Bug 1753183] [NEW] Not able to do quick calculation via GNOME Activities

2018-03-03 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 17.10 I was able to press the Super key and do simple math
quickly (i.e. 40/5 would give me answer of 8), not so with 18.04
testing. Is this due to the fact that GNOME Calculator application is a

[Bug 1728462] Re: No badge or progress bar for Firefox with Ubuntu Dock

2017-10-31 Thread motang
Getting notifications from web services. For instance I opted to get
notification from YouTube and Facebook, I get notification pop down, but
no badges.

On this note, do I need a Firefox extension for progress bar and badges
to work? If so will that disable multi=processing?

[Bug 1709725] Re: the updates tab states that the system is uptodate when it's not

2017-08-31 Thread motang
Well that's a shame, as now it is more confusing. IF a user happens to
go to the section and clicks on refresh but the app comes back and
states that the system is up to date. Yet the update manager has a slew
of updates waiting, it is a bit misleading. Honestly, I think we should
just use Gnome/Ubuntu Software to update our system, and the Update
Manager should be retired or only used in case of dist-upgrade.

Launch Ubuntu Software click on Updates then click on Refresh on top
left. This used to work and populate packages that needed to be updated.
Not any more, just shows message that "Software up to date" yet Update

[Bug 1705005] [NEW] Combination of Light Themes with Adwaita Shell theme

2017-07-18 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

While Ambiance/Radiance GTK theme is used by default for GTK
aaplications, Adwaita Shell theme is set as default for Gnome Shell.
This makes it a very odd combination. So while you have Ubuntu's theme
with orange and purple on GTK applications, you have Adwaita blue for
Gnome Shell itself. For example when you click on Activities there is a
blue underline, or in overview of open applications have blue outline
and not orange like in Unity.Right clicking on an application when all
installed application are listed show Adwaita theme and not Ubuntu light
themes.

[Bug 758240] Re: Can't connect to GTalk with empathy, worked in 10.10.

2011-05-02 Thread motang
Easy work around for this is to go into the accounts and under GTalk
click on the Advanced arrow and check mark both Encryption Required and
Ignore SLL, fill in Server (if blank with talk.google.com) and port (if
blank) with 5222, and check mark Use old SLL and click on Apply. That
should do that trick.

[Bug 750290] Re: Can't seek when listening to mp3 files (such as podcast)

2011-04-26 Thread motang
Got it fixed. Remove the gstreamer ugly and bad and install the
multiverse version, that will let you seek. Also install gstreamer0.10
-fluendo-plugins-mp3-parnter

After that you should be able to seek with Totem when you playing MP3
files.

It was so bad, as not only mp3 files, but also I couldn't watch any
video files that I rolled back to 10.10 on my desktop. I hope by the
time the final release is out this issue would be fixed.

[Bug 401284] [NEW] Choosing Shutdown or Restart just logs me out in Ubuntu 9.04

2009-07-18 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

I have noticed this for quite sometime now, and it wasn't really
bothering me much till the hot weather hit (as I tend to turn my desktop
off more since it get really hot in my room). Here is my problem,
whenever I got to shutdown or restart on both my desktop and laptop
Ubuntu just logs me out and then from the log on screen I can choose
shutdown or restart then it works as it suppose to. I don't know what,
but 8.10 earlier versions were working as they were suppose to. If I
type in shutdown -r now or shutdown -h now it works fine.

[Bug 280768] [NEW] Can't Suspend in Ubuntu 8.10

2008-10-09 Thread motang
Public bug reported:

I can't put my laptop to suspend anymore. In Ubuntu 8.04 it worked like
it was suppose to. I think it had to do with the fact that Ubuntu 8.04
used fireglx drivers for the ATi. But before hand (Ubuntu 7.10) I
wasn't have successful suspend, where I would put the computer into
suspend but when I wake it up everything would come back up but the
screen would be blank. It is the same thing in Ubuntu 8.10. I know 8.10
is in Beta still but I wanted to point this one out. I have a HP
dv5000z with ATi Radeon Xpress 200M video card.
