Suspend started working reliably immediately after upgrade to 2.6.31
rc6. Several suspend related fixes in this kernel were discussed at

Suspend appeared to work (hard drive spun down, fan turned off, and
indicator light began to blink) but computer woke up during suspend and
was running hot with a blinking cursor in the top right screen. Apport
reported a kernel bug after restart.

I can attached the full dmesgs if needed. I should note that when I
initiated suspend from the command line the process locked up without
spin down.

Confirm that this is a kernel associated regression. Suspend works
normally in:

Yes, I give you permission to send the powerpoint file.
The reason I marked the bug as private is that I have data in the ppt
that I do not want to be cached by some web crawler. I will find the
specific slides that cause the crash and modify them so that I am
comfortable making the file world

When opening some powerpoint
Updated jaunty to ii openoffice.org 1:3.0.1-4ubuntu1 and gdb still shows
a segfault when loading the ppt.

I can confirm this bug on multiple hardy and intrepid nv boxes with
multiple monitors and projectors. Screen settings shows monitor not
detected. Xrandr is similarly uninformative. When I use a manually
configured xorg the monitor works properly. There needs to be an option
to manually override
