[Bug 692931] [NEW] Impossible to upgarde from 10.04 to 10.10 (unresolvable problem occurred)

2010-12-21 Thread naoli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

When trying to upgrade to 10.10, here's what I got :

___
  Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
The package 'update-manager' is marked for removal but it is in the removal
blacklist.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the
'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the
bug report.
__

I tried to run update-manager -c -d as deviced in other posts, no
improvement.

The apt.log speaks about Try to Re-Instate xserver-xorg- but I got no
clue.

Thanks

[Bug 400201] [NEW] [wishlist] sudo password ask for later in a script

2009-07-16 Thread naoli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sudo

Hi, first of all sorry if I'm not in the right place to post.

When running personnal scripts, sometimes it is useful to run a sudo
command once in a while. The problem is, if you're not in front of the
terminal when running, it asks for the sudo password until you come
back Not convenient if you run a very long script.

Running the whole script as sudo is not really wise, don't you think ?

I think it could be useful to have a command that asks for the sudo
password at the very beginnig and memorize it for later on. Example :

get_sudo myscript.sh (-- asks for the password before running the
script, once for all)

myscript.sh :
#!/bin/sh
normal command (-- is not run as super user, but casual one)
another normal command (same)
...
restitute_sudo mkdir .. (-- no problem to be run since the password sudo
has been remembered)
...

What do you think ?

[Bug 398444] Re: Why passwords letters are not showed as * ?

2009-07-15 Thread naoli
HU ? :O

Sorry, but I disagree. For instance, on our french online doc/help/forum
(http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org), there are plenty of pages written for
beginners that kindly ask to run a command in a terminal. Half of them
are sudo commands. (e.g. if you're stuck with the wifi, which is quite
often : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/wifi) ;)

Am I wrong ?

2008-04-29 Thread naoli
Hi guys,

I have the same pb with my NVIDIA GT.

Downloading the latest drivers did work, but I can't have the 3D
effects, or the white screen of death just comes back...

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot.
