Yes after disabling fastboot and secureboot, I didn't see this error and Lubuntu was installed successfully. I didn't try Ubuntu at all. Grub seams to depend on BIOS settings specific to each vendor (Lenovo, etc) like fastboot and that this irrelevent to which ubuntu distribution we talk about.
