2016-06-20 Thread Nil PARRA
On 16.10, if i do :

modified the main.conf
sudo gvim /etc/bluetooth/main.conf
 change line 67 from #[Policy] into [Policy]
change line 89 from #AutoEnable=false into AutoEnable=true

remove file 50-bluetooth-hci-auto-poweron.rules located in
/lib/udev/rules.d

[Bug 877765] Re: [Latitude E6510] X crashes when lid is closed

2014-11-20 Thread Nil
Daniel, I have have encountered this problem on a daily basis. While I
tend to avoid closing the lid now knowing it'll crash after some time, I
avoid doing so, but I do test it every now then to see if it's been
fixed. Definitely still exists. Running up to date 14.04. Should I be
creating a different bug report?

[Bug 222324] Re: Support for panasonic hotkeys missing

2009-01-26 Thread Nil
@Andy

I just rebooted with your kernel (2.6.27-11lb222324apw2). The kernel just
works, no problem. But I see no support for the hotkeys. No pcc-acpi module, no
response to any hotkey pressed, and
$ cat /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/LCD1/brightness
not supported

Am I missing something?

[Bug 268447] Re: MOTD should not point to https://landscape.canonical.com if you are not a customer

2009-01-26 Thread Nil
@Steve: Well, I see the rrdtool text as branding : «this graph is made
with the rrdtool, by tobi oetiker».

Even if, yes, there is no real value added by this text, it doesn't even
suggest me to look at oetiker.ch, where I could ask for services. If
landscape-client said this is lanscape, by canonical, I would feel the
same. Not very useful, but not a problem.

But lanscape-client says use our commercial services, which is more of
a commercial, and that's why I don't feel the same.

[Bug 255008] Re: Up arrow key mapped to Print [screen]

2008-12-05 Thread Nil
I have a japanese keyboard, panasonic Y5 laptop. The PgDown key doesn't
work. Up-to-date intrepid packages.

* setting the keyboard model to evdev in the gnome configuration tool doesn't
fix it.
* `sudo setxkbmap -model evdev -layout jp -variant 106` fixes the issue, but I
guess I will have to do it after every reboot

The commented-out part of my xorg.conf is:

[Bug 222324] Re: Support for panasonic hotkeys missing

2008-12-04 Thread Nil
Thanks for the efforts, Andy. A backport from Intrepid would be very
nice, indeed.

I tried the proposed kernel images on my Panasonic Y5. It seems to fail,
X can't start. I didn't try the hotkeys from console mode.

Previously, everything was working with gutsy kernel + pcc-acpi-0.9 +
SUSE patches + make/install/modprobe.

Currrently, with the default Intrepid kernel, sound and brightness
hotkeys don't work, but brightness is automatically adjusted (moved
down/up) whether I am on battery or plugged.

For further tests, could you provide the bare module sources for simple
make/install/modprobe tests?

answer from the upstream author:

 thanks. That's coming from the C preprocessor (there might be a way
 to improve this by modifying the popen to redirect the standard
 error - will see).

 The -q option was probably documented to cover this case:

   cproto -q -E0 foo.c

 which does the expected thing.

[Bug 119072] Re: SNMP Perl module makes segfault

2007-07-18 Thread nil
I think it was not a bug.

I was using many threaded calls to SNMP without locking, and Net-SNMP is
not thread-safe, so implementing the same code with locks makes it run
smooth.

[Bug 119072] Re: SNMP Perl module makes segfault

2007-07-18 Thread nil
Was not a bug, perl port of lib net-snmp is not thread save, and because
of that, code that uses this package fails.

[Bug 104855] Impossible to launch amaya

2007-04-09 Thread Nil Parra
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amaya

when i want to start amaya , it's impossible.

In console in root or not :

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ amaya
18:06:57: Deleted stale lock file '/home/nyl/.amaya-nyl'.

(amaya:16737): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion
`!GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED (widget)' failed
The program 'amaya' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 7454 error_code 8 request_code 142 minor_code 5)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 51746] Memory Leak in DBD::Mysql

2006-07-03 Thread nil
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libdbd-mysql-perl

I think I found a memory leak in some point in Perl/Mysql
infraestructure. I am not sure that if it is in DBD::mysql, general DBI
or possible in libmysql-client, but it's very easy to reproduce the
memory leak:

#!/usr/bin/perl
use strict;
use warnings;
use DBI; # DB interface with MySQL

while (1){
keep_alive_check();
}

sub keep_alive_check {
my $dbh =
DBI-connect(DBI:mysql:pandora:localhost:3306,pandora,pandora,{
RaiseError = 1 });
$dbh-disconnect;
undef $dbh;
}

If you run this script, it lost aprox 32bytes per second. I calculated
that exactly lost 4 bytes per iteration. My library versions are:

Ubuntu Dapper (also tested with Debian Woody) with the same results.

/usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.7/DBD/mysql.pm
$VERSION = '3.0006';

/usr/lib/perl5/DBD/mysql.pm
$VERSION = '3.0002';

Please, if anybody knows something about this, contact me or post here
some light to the problem.

Thanks.

[Bug 43745] Re: Ubuntu corrupts real time clock on some dell laptops

2006-06-20 Thread nil
On a new D820, I've installed from the dapper drake desktop 6.06 iso,
updated packages, including kernel to 2.6.15-25-686 and I set the
default runlevel to 6 (reboot) and let it go for a couple of hours.
Good news is that I didn't experience the time-of-day clock stopped
error. So it seems more likely that this problem has been fixed in
these later kernels.
