[Bug 272832] Re: new design still not implemented

2008-09-21 Thread nordlicht.ol
When I look at Themes like Dust or New-Wave, New-Human is a real
bad choice. It's neither fresh nor economical. Working with it isn't
real fun because of low contrasts and the colours are looking anything
but modern. Just my personal opinion. I wouldn't use it.

slow.

[Bug 163868] Metacity (?): 120 Sec. delay after login with Compiz removed

2007-11-19 Thread nordlicht.ol
Public bug reported:

Package-Hint: compiz-core

I installed Gutsy as Textbased-System and installed all the Things I
need with aptitude. After logging into the System via GDM, I had to wait
60 Sec. for the Windowmanager (metacity) to start. After days of testing
I found out that the error is the gnome-wm Script that obviously didn't
recognize that compiz isn't avaylable. Setting metacity as default-wm in
gconf didn't solved the Problem. A metacity --replace startet
metacity, but I couldn't get it to start automatically. The only thing
that helped this far was to install compiz-core with its dependencys.
This couldn't be the way, it would be very good if compiz wouldn't be

Sound is Ok, but I have the feeling that this could be the reason for

2007-10-24 Thread nordlicht.ol
I use a Sounblaster Audigy 2 PCMCIA. I found out that the Problem maybe
lies not in the Applet because the Problem with the Suspendmodes only
occour when the SBA2 is plugged in. Without the attached SBA, suspend
works fine.

[Bug 156430] Mixer-applet prevents Suspendmode

2007-10-23 Thread nordlicht.ol
Public bug reported:

Under Gutsy, the Suspendmodes aren't working for me. I only get a black
screen, after a few seconds I can enter my password to get back to the
Desktop. I noticed that the Gnome-mixer-applet has a heavy CPU Load
(60-80%) so I removed it from the Panel. A few seconds later, Gutsy went
into Sleepmode.

The same here...as in Feisty. It's really nasty that this wasn't fixed
in Feisty already. Is it really so hard to get this working? I know it
is because Nautilus hasn't a feature needed by File-rollers Dnd, but
hey: go back to File-Rollers old Dnd-Method until the Feature is
integrated in Nautilus. Would make more sense as leaving the Users
without working Dnd.

Ok, thanks for the hint.

That message just means that no device is connected to your secondary

[Bug 93869] Desktop-Effects: Could not acuire decoration manager selection

2007-03-19 Thread nordlicht.ol
Public bug reported:

After a fresh install of Herd5 (without changing anything) Desktop-
Effects work fine. After Updating the System on 19.3. at 18:73 I only
get this message:

gtk-window-decorator: Could not acquire decoration manager selection on screen

/usr/bin/compiz.real: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing
/usr/bin/compiz.real: Failed to manage screen: 0

I havn't changed gfx-drivers or anything else, before I updated it

[Bug 93545] Sdhci: System unusable after Standby.

2007-03-18 Thread nordlicht.ol
Public bug reported:

I have big Problems with sdhci. Hardware: Asus V6V Laptop (Centrino
Platform) with 915PM Chipset. The built in Cardreader is a Ricoh R5C822.
While booting up I get the message:

[11.64] sdhci:slot0: Controller reports 25 MHz base clock, but no
high speed support.

This far everything seems fine. When I go to Suspend and wake up again, the
whole System hangs every 3-4 Seconds, and this permanently.
A look at the Kernel.log shows that there is a real long entry with sdhci error
messages (Unexpected interrupt/Controller never released inhibit bit(s)).
